Black Swan 2010,  R)
Black Swan
I loved Natalie Portman before this movie, but after watching this, she has become my favorite actress. You can obviously see the dedication and devotion she gave to this film. Mila Kunis was an incredible supporting actress. This movie isn't just a ballet; it keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout!

Winter's Bone 2010,  R)
Winter's Bone
I honestly had very high hopes for this film. Don't get me wrong, it was good, however not as great as I would've liked it to be. Jennifer Lawrence was fantastic in this. The plot is intriguing, but the movie was a little dry throughout. It did have you guessing about the ending but as the ending came it was a bit disappointing. Still a good watch.

Brothers 2009,  R)
Brothers
I love all of the actors in this film. The storyline was fair, but the movie really did drag on. Great performances from all 3 actors however it was a very predictable film. I wouldn't waste my time watching it again...

Let the Right One In 2008,  R)
Let the Right One In
Well, I use to think Twilight was an amazing vampire series until I saw this! I fell in love with Oskar and Eli. I felt a strong emotional connection with both characters. It was a sweet yet twisted love story. I finally found a movie I would buy and watch over and over again.
5
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World 2010,  PG-13)
6
The Fighter 2010,  R)
The Fighter
Wow is all I can say. I hate boxing movies, I mean HATE boxing movies. However, this movie is already at the top of my list. Though the movie focuses on Mark Wahlberg (who did a fantastic job), I feel that both Christian Bale and Amy Adams shined much brighter. Bale can play such versatile roles; how many actors can go from Batman to crack addict?! Not many. You almost felt sorry for Bale. Also, boxing was the 'suggestive' theme however I think it focused more on family drama and values which added so much dynamic. I just simply LOVED this movie.

The Killer Inside Me 2010,  R)
The Killer Inside Me
Where do I begin? I had very high hopes for this film. I love Casey Afflack and Jessica Alba. But really? The storyline was fantastic...however the violence was WAY too much. Don't get me wrong, I love a violent film, but during the scene where Affleck beats Alba, I almost got sick. The movie would have been outstanding if it would'nt have been for the over the top violence. This movie had so much potiental but it didn't shine because of the excessive violence. Also, it seems as if the movie had two main parts: him driving or him having sex & beating up women. Instead of the viewer being able to focus on the plot and storyline, they are forced to sit through unnecessary scenes. I'm honestly at a loss for words. It could have been an amazing film, yet it ended up making me feel awkward.

Barry Munday 2008,  R)
Barry Munday
I really enjoyed this movie. Patrick Wilson is such a phenomenal actor! This movie had everything, it was funny (but didn't force it), it had drama and was all around just a feel good movie. I have nothing bad to say about it! This movie didn't get much credit (not sure if it even went to theaters) but its definitely a must see (more than once!).
9
The Social Network 2010,  PG-13)
The Social Network
I must say the only reason I watched this film was because it beat Inception, Black Swan and the Fighter at the Golden Globe Awards. I had to see what all the hype was about. To my surprise, it was actually a very decent movie. All of the actors were great and it showed the raw truth of how 'the' facebook was created. After saying that, it was NOT however better than Inception, Black Swan or the Fighter. I do respected The Social Network and must give credit where credit is due. I am still puzzled at why this film won best original score?
10
The Town 2010,  R)
The Town
I finally became a fan of Ben Affleck after he became a director (Gone Baby Gone) The Town just proved even more that Affleck has a lot of talent under his belt. I felt as if he has really transformed himself from mediocre to unstoppable! I really hope he can continue acting and directing the way he has been. The movie itself was so entertaining. Yes, it was predictable that his 'girlfriend' would eventually find out about him but it wasn't done in a boring way. This movie had class and pa-jazz and will definitely be added to my DVD collection.
11
Cyrus 2010,  R)
Cyrus
I admit that I did have higher expectations for this film, even though it was entertaining. I assumed it would be a slapstick comedy because of John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill though it had a more indie, drama touch to it. I did love the music and documentary style shots in this film. It really helped the movie. Overall, it did hold my attention but felt bored at times. It had plenty of bizarre, awkward moments; all three actors were perfect for their roles. By the end, you oddly fell in love and felt sorry for Cyrus. I'd probably watch this movie again, yet wouldn't add it to my DVD collection.
