Bleh, the title was a mouthful. Anyways here are my greatest comic book/graphic novel/manga inspired live-action movies (my animated movies are on another list). Some movies might be missing but they are probably just on another list... or I haven't watched them... or they suck.

The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
Not only is The Dark Knight the best superhero movie ever made, but it's one of the best movies of any genre ever made. Its taken the darkness from Batman Begins and increased it one hundred fold. While Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman do a pretty good job, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, and Aaron Eckhart give the performance of a lifetime. All the hype doesn't even come close to how great this movie is and you don't even have to like Superheroes to love this movie. Buy it, See it, Rent it, or do all three, just watch this movie!

Batman 1989,  PG-13)

Batman Begins 2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
Thankfully, Batman has risen from the ashes of campiness to prove himself one of the ultimate badasses. This movie is dark and brings a whole new level of realism to Superhero movies. Even if you don't like Superheroes, you will really like this and if you love comics like me, you will damn near worship this movie.

Oldboy 2004,  R)
Oldboy
I still am in awe of this film. The acting is top notch but the storyline is the most amazing part. It's a dark, twisted, interweaving tale that would make any great playwright stand up and applaud. I will full admit though that some people will NOT like this movie. It's not for those of you that want a happy and non ambiguous story. But for those of us that want more from our movies, watch this as soon as possible. And be ready for an ending that will make your jaw drop... because it will regardless.

Koroshiya 1 (Ichi the Killer)
This has to be one of the most violent movies ever made. Its incredibly stylish, brutal, and has an insanely dark sense of humor, which made me like this movie even more. this movie is an absolute "must see"

V for Vendetta 2006,  R)
V for Vendetta
While this movie is a magnificent criticism of Governments in general, it misses the greatness and falls short of Alan Moore's masterpiece. Read the Graphic Novel first to learn the lesson and then watch the movie simply for entertainment

Flash Gordon 1980,  PG)
Flash Gordon
CAMPY GOODNESS!
