Movies About Drugs Of All Kinds.

The best drug inspired films ever, pro and con. Other films on the list have powerful scenes that involve drug use, but aren't entirely about drugs.

1	Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 1998, R) The granddaddy of all drug movies, about two guys who take a long trip any way they can. Great movie to watch when you're messed up either along or with friends. This has some messed up scary parts but its mostly a pro drug movie in the end.
2	Requiem for a Dream 2000, R) This is the best movie to watch if you're even on the fence about trying heroin or any other hard drugs. This is a very scary but real movie about the cons of dealing drugs or taking drugs.
3	Blow 2001, R) Probably the greatest movie I can think of mostly about the real life cocaine industry in the mid to late 70s and early to mid 80s. This is based on the real life story of former pot dealer turned coke emperor George Young. Very sad all together when you it gets right down to it.
4	Half Baked 1998, R) The ultimate crazy whacky weed comedy. Great to watch with a group of friends while you smoke a few bowls.
5	Spun 2002, R) This movie is just crazy and shows you what meth can do to different people. A great cast all around.
6	Up in Smoke 1978, R) The first of many crazy weed comedies from Cheech and chong. Parts of this are just so stupid you kinda just go with it. This would have to fall in the pro weed category.
7	Cheech and Chong's Nice Dreams 1981, R) My favorite of the Cheech and Chong movies. Paul Reubens aka. Pee Wee Herman plays a coke head to great comedic effect. Another so stupid its funny drug movie, thus making it pro.
8	Traffic 2000, R) About the real life drug traffic that goes on from mexico to the united states. This could have been alot better but its a decent watch for what it turned out to be.
9	Scarface 1983, R) One of the best examples of a con drug movie that people don't seem to understand. This was supposed to show you how bad doing and selling coke is. Ignorant people have made it out to be somekind of lifestyle to aspire to. One of the best gangster criminal dramas with a coke inspired story ever.
10	Cheech & Chong's Next Movie 1980, R) My least favorite of the cheech and chong movies but its still decent enough. Funny cameo's by certain character actors make this a winner. The drugs are kinda here and there with this one.
11	Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle 2004, R)
12	How High 2001, R) Its a silly low brow comedy but its good for a chuckle here and there. You need a good stupid movie every once in awhile.
13	Bad Lieutenant 1992, NC-17) This movie has been over hyped by every single person online and I went out of my way and bought it. Come to find it, the movie is very half baked and it leaves you very angry and cheated at the end. Not saying a movie has to have a happy ending but this is seriously lacking in alot of places.
14	New Jack City 1991, R) This one shows the buildings of the crack empire throughout the mid to late 80s. Its not glorifying crack like some other movies do. This is a great cheesy action drama with a strong anti drug message. One of Judd Nelsons last big time roles also.
15	The French Connection 1971, R) One of the earliest examples of the big budget cop movie from the 70s. Gene Hackman plays a tough cop after french heroin smugglers,based on a true story. This has one of the most amazing car chase scenes ever!!!

29	Wonderland 2003, R) Overly boring in alot of scenes but entertaining as a true crime film. There's not alot of scenes of porn or sexual sleeze, there is however multiple scenes of drug use throughout. I wished that there wasn't so much talking and scene chewing from Val Kilmer and Lisa Kudrow but the ending made up for the long overdrawn boring parts. This isn't something I'm going to rush to see again but it was good for a one time watch with a friend on a boring afternoon when you want to kill some time.

63	Homegrown 1998, R) Always wanted to see this when I saw it in video stores years ago and finally when I saw it, it wasn't what I expected exactly but it was pretty damn good for what it was.It was a Nice mix of action,comedy,drama and suspense. Billy Bob Thornton was good here and didn't really hijack this movie like he usually does in ensemble pieces. I think Hank Azaria really showed off his acting chops in this and Ryan Phillippe was more or less just a set piece for women to rub one out to. Kelly Lynch was bad ass as the girlfriend of the drug boss, and lover of the hired help. Great cameos from Bon Jovi,John Lithgow,Ted Danson and Jamie Lee Curtis round out the film. I was pleasantly surprised how the film turned out, but if you're someone who isn't a fan of serious themed suspense comedy... that has a slightly dark edge then you need to look elsewhere. If you like out there comedy suspense dramas like this... then this film will hit your sweet spot.

143	100 Kilos 2001, R) This was a decent enough low budget coke dealer gangsta movie, that what it lacked in budget,violence and acting in some parts (just awful dreadful acting in some parts) it made up for in heart and story. Glenn Plummer who was also in Saw 2 did a pretty good job in this with what he was given for a script. His narrations seemed alittle cheesy at times and you could tell he cracked up probably the first time he read some of them. The action is down right hysterical in one part in the pool hall, and one of the younger gangstas mother acting is so bad I laughed out loud (not in a good way) when she was chastising her wanna be gang banger son. The movie was decent despite those bad parts, and it almost seemed like it was made for tv for like the usa network in the late 90s early 00's but they said Fuck in every other part in the movie. For Revenge of the nerds fans who happen to read this....Larry B.Scott who played Lamarre in The Revenge Of The Nerds Series makes a little cameo in this as well, so thats something to look for in this if you happen to ever want to track it down.
