The apparent amorality in Almodóvar's work can be deceiving, and this is the best example. His refusal to to portray so-called monsters as such allows a clearer glimpse at what is, to me, his most transgressive characteristic: a bold, radically humanistic approach to character. His best work so far.

The bad quality of the sound work does not diminish the impact of this interesting Spanish thriller.

Very far from perfect, but worth the watch, especially for fans of the genre.

Amazing Spanish horror with some creepy insights on human nature and an astoundingly dumb protagonist. Oh, now I know where Fernando Meirelles got that shot from. :P
45
An underrated jewel of Argentinean cinema in which nothing is what it seems and the truth is not an option.

There sure are problems towards the ending, but Lupi's performance and the overall originality of the film make up for that.

Another stunning work by Almodóvar - the final lines made me cry. I wonder where a filmmaker of this caliber is gonna end up, I really do...

Excellent acting by Hendler and a script that is not desperate to make its point - good job!
