[Rec] 2007,  R)
[Rec]
When I read the sypnosis for this movie, I thought that this was gonna be another movie of mindless zombies suddenly manifesting and creating a gory feast. However, after watching it, I have to admit, it was pretty good. The movie starting out with the scenes of a tv show was pretty interesting and its ending was sudden but got me wanting to find out more. Overall, pretty exciting movie.
2
[Rec] 2 2009,  R)
[Rec] 2
This movie was kinda confusing for me. 1stly, it was just a zombie virus and then there's a religious aspect to it??? Despite it, I felt that it came together in a way that I found interesting. The visuals were pretty good and the plot wasn't draggy. Overall, a great ending to the Rec. franchise.
3
Daybreakers 2009,  R)
Daybreakers
Seriously, the vampire idea is seriously overused these days but this movie had a fresh new concept to it. Instead of the usual, it had a futuristic outlook that combines fantasy, sci-fi and horror together. Overall, I liked that this movie was bold from deviating away from the usual vampire movies out there. Great!
4
Blood: The Last Vampire 2009,  R)
Blood: The Last Vampire
I am a great supporter of Korean artistes but Gianna was not impressively good in this movie. Her acting was too monotonous and seemed a little bit out of place in certain scenes. The movie itself was pretty predictable and there was nothing too sensational about it. Its decent but just another slasher flick lost in the vortex of other great slasher flicks.
5
Green Zone 2010,  R)
Green Zone
Matt Damon is a really consistent and great actor. Even though this movie was living in the shadow of th Boourne series, he managed to actually portray his roles differently. This gives him an edge and showed his acting off in a positive way. I liked that this movie was set in such a realistic way that I felt that I was watching a real-life scene unfold before me for 115 minutes even though its just a movie. This will definitely be in my DVD Collection. =)
6
Date Night 2010,  PG-13)
Date Night
When you have two great comedians like Steve Carrell & Tina Fey in one movie, you know its gonna be a good one. The movie title may sound like some sappy rom-com, it is definitely not one. I loved that this movie was not only hilarious but you actually get to see action as well. Mark Wahlberg was also surprising in this movie. Now, that guy can play a hot stud real good. =) Overall, this movie is gonna be in my DVD Collection. And that's actually a great thing.
7
The Game Plan 2007,  PG)
The Game Plan
The Game Plan really surprised me. I was expecting an average movie but instead, this heartwarming story was really entertaining. Dwayne Johnson & Madison Pettis really had great chemistry and the storyline was really cute and amusing. The whole idea of lonely, ego-centric man becomes an unexpected Daddy really works well in this movie. Overall, a great family movie.
8
Step Up 2 the Streets 2008,  PG-13)
9
Nim's Island 2008,  PG)
Nim's Island
This is definitely one of those family movies that will appeal to the masses. There was nothing special in terms of storyline or concept but the emotions from this movie was heartwarming...Goes to show that it doesn't really matter whether a movie should have a unique concept or feature...It has to emit certain emotions that makes us wanna watch it...=)
10
Marebito 2004,  R)
Marebito
You gotta admit, the Japanese are masters in the horror movie genre. This movie was dark, mysterious, gritty and definitely not for the faint-hearted. I liked that the movie managed to incorporate the scary elements in a way that clicks together with the emotional scenes. Overall, a really interesting movie but watch at your own risk.
11
Paranormal Activity 2007,  R)
Paranormal Activity
An acquaintance of mine dared me to watch this movie. Before this, I've heard a lot of mixed reviews for this movie. I didn't watch it at first when it premiered in the cinemas. However, I decided to watch it just to see what the hype's about. This movie was too predictable for me. The scary moments were not really cutting it. It felt like I was watching an amateur movie which was done in quite a common concept. Overall, a so-so movie to watch if you really have nothing else to do.
12
Paranormal Activity 2 2010,  R)
Paranormal Activity 2
The 1st Paranormal Activity was pretty so-so. This movie was a little better cos there was more plot revealed and the link between the 1st movie and this one was pretty defined. Overall, a pretty okay movie compared to the 1st. Thank God this instalment has ended.
13
Resident Evil: Afterlife 2010,  R)
Resident Evil: Afterlife
I gotta say, Milla Jovovich is one badass actress...She is perfect for the Alice role...I didn't really like the plot that much but the characters were pretty good. Wentworth Miller was a good addition to the cast and his role was pretty hot...However, the ending was too vague and uninteresting as compared to the previous 3 movies. I hope (if) the next movie will be more kickass and have a better storyline. Overall, a great movie. =))
14
Scream 1996,  R)
Scream
Since Scream 4 is coming out soon, I decided to revisit the franchise by watching all the Scream movies again. Wes Craven is a great director. This movie was very dark and suspenseful which is of course, a trademark of Wes Craven. I felt that this movie really was one of the pioneers of horror slasher flicks due to the signature Ghostface killer as well as the plot itself...Overall, a highly recommended movie. =)
15
Scream 2 1997,  R)
Scream 2
This was an interesting sequel in the sense that the 1st movie was pretty hard to replicate in terms of the great plot. Although it is a sequel, I felt that certain scenes/parts were kinda obvious repeats of the 1st movie. Despite that, I liked that the movie had additional characters which gave it a whole new perspective. Overall, still a great movie. =)
16
Scream 3 2000,  R)
Scream 3
What a shocking ending...I totally didn't expect or even predict that the ending would be so different. I thought this was gonna be the last movie and it sure looked like it went out with a great ending. Overall, a great way to build up excitement for Scream 4. I'm expecting another great instalment from Wes Craven. =)
17
Khon len khong (Art of the Devil) 2004,  Unrated)
Khon len khong (Art of the Devil)
The Thais have great sense when it comes to horror movies. Before I watched this, I was told that this movie was really very scary. I'm not easily scared by horror movies but this movie left me feeling a little disturbed. The topic of black magic/arts was very in depth in this movie and the storyline was pretty interesting. Overall, a pretty good horror movie.
18
Long khong (Art of the Devil 2) 2005,  Unrated)
Long khong (Art of the Devil 2)
I realized that this movie has no links with the 1st one but was linked to the 3rd one. I gotta applaud the directors for having interesting twist & turns to this movie. Kept me interested and guessing which certainly didn't make this movie boring. The Panor character was really disturbing as well. Overall, a great 2nd instalment.
19
Art Of The Devil 3 (Long Khong 2) 2008,  Unrated)
Art Of The Devil 3 (Long Khong 2)
Damn, this movie was intense. Besides the gore factor, I thought this movie was pretty decent. The storyline was quite confusing in a way. Overall, not as good as the 1st movie but the suspense and horror elements are still quite good in most parts.
20
Blade 1998,  R)
Blade
Blade is one of the best vampire movies out there. Wesley Snipes kicks ass as Blade and the gore was unbelievable. I love that the character Blade is multi-faceted, which makes him unpredictable and appealing in a way. Overall, a great flick for gore fans out there.
21
Blade II 2002,  R)
Blade II
Definitely as good as the first one. Wesley still kicks vampire asses as great as the first one. With the additional weaving storyline, I found it interesting that Blade was pretty much retained in his character. I had hoped that Blade and the Nyssa character would have more scenes together. I mean, I'm not expecting some action-grade romance. Perhaps, a low-key complicated love/hate relationship would have made the movie more all rounded. That said, I still think this movie was great. Loved the ending part too. Overall, another great Blade movie that doesn't disappoint at all.
22
Blade: Trinity 2004,  R)
Blade: Trinity
Great ending for this trilogy. Even with the addition of Ryan Renolds & Jessica Biel as vampire hunters, Wesley Snipes still stands out and kicks asses as Blade. The only complaint that I have is, why didn't any of the movies show Blade's origin as a hybrid...I mean, the storyline was great and all but at least Blade's past should have been explored a little. However, this is still a great movie.
23
Tekken 2010,  R)
Tekken
A lot of fighter movies are coming out in these few years. This movie was not too bad, the fight sequences was lackluster and the story plot wasn't very original. However, the actors really carried out their roles well and made it believable. I gotta say, Jon Foo is one hot guy...The eye candy factor is definitely there. Overall, an alright movie.
24
First Blood (Rambo: First Blood) 1982,  R)
First Blood (Rambo: First Blood)
Damn, Rambo is one hell of a guy. The movie was quite focused on Rambo so the action was not much but I liked that there was still some moments that showed Rambo as a killing machine and yet retained that human aspect of him...Overall, quite a good introduction movie. =)
25
Rambo: First Blood Part II 1985,  R)
Rambo: First Blood Part II
Rambo is smoking hot! The action was pulsating and the story was more packed. Loved the addition of a complicated love interest in the form of his contact in Vietnam. However, I wished there were more scenes of Rambo and the lady in question where both of them connect on a deeper level. I mean, I know its an action movie but when you have a beautiful co-star, you gotta have more realistic romance scenes. Overall, another great hit. =)
26
Rambo III 1988,  R)
Rambo III
Rambo Rambo Rambo, he's one hell of a guy. Literally, he just packs a punch. Although the movie subject was of a sensitive nature, Sly Stallone managed to keep it watchable by maintaining his signature Rambo moves & style. Overall, still maintaining a great series. =))
27
Rambo (Rambo IV) 2008,  R)
Rambo (Rambo IV)
Oh my, even though Sly Stallone is getting on in years, he still rocks at being Rambo. I admit, I'm a big fan of Sly Stallone. However, this movie was more realistic in terms of gore and storyline. Hell, even Rambo rocked when he was with a band of mercenaries in the movie. The storyline was definitely not stuck in the past and there was no recurrent scenes with the previous movies. I liked that the ending was very unpredictable also. Overall, a great movie. Heard a Rambo 5 may be in the works...I would love to see that happen...=))
28
Macabre 2009,  Unrated)
Macabre
Holy shit, this movie totally redefined the aspects of Indonesian horror genre. Literally. I was amazed that it was realistic and bold. Even though it cannot really compare to the Saw franchise, it still has a chance of being one if there's a sequel...Overall, a graphic nightmare only horror or gore fans will appreciate more. Not for the faint-hearted or queasy ones.
29
Death Race 2 2010,  R)
Death Race 2
I felt that this movie didn't do justice to the 1st one. I admit, it gives insight to the whole idea of Frankenstein and Death Race but it was basically a repeat of the 1st movie with different storyline only. Overall, could be improved and made better. If there is a next movie for this, I would love to see Jason Statham character instead.
30
The Blair Witch Project 1999,  R)
The Blair Witch Project
I have mixed feelings regarding this movie. On one hand, it was great as during that time, such a movie wasn't common but on the other hand, it was an average horror movie. The footage scenes could have made for a better storyline but it was instead just mixed up. I wished there were more definitive moments. Overall, its just another movie that didn't live up to the hype.
31
Book of Shadows - Blair Witch 2 2000,  R)
Book of Shadows - Blair Witch 2
This movie was slightly better than the 1st one in terms of plot and characters. There were definitely certain moments that made the movie spooky. However, it became a little bit too predictable in the middle. However, the ending was good. I really didn't see that one coming. Overall, its an okay movie.
32
Bakjwi (Thirst) 2009,  R)
Bakjwi (Thirst)
I was expecting some sort of mindless horror for this movie. I was proven wrong after watching this. I don't really know how to describe the movies cos it had so many layers to it. Strangely, all these layers were very cohesive with each other. I was intrigued by the movie. The storyline was pretty unique because it's so different from most horror types of movies. The characters seemed so real I was captivated and definitely gave the movie some edge. I liked that the protagonist was so unassuming, making the movie more interesting as it goes. Overall, a pretty disturbing movie but I still like it for its creativity.
33
The Pink Panther 2006,  PG)
The Pink Panther
This movie was just hilarious. From Closeau's weird mannerisms to the storyline, I was entertained. An engaging storyline and definitive characters definitely made this movie enjoyable to watch for the whole family. Overall, a comedy that's great for family movie nights.
34
Pink Panther 2 2009,  PG)
Pink Panther 2
I seriously thought Closeau's eccentricity would be a one trick pony but I was so wrong. I still laughed and enjoyed his wisecracks even more so. The storyline was more advanced than the 1st one. I definitely liked his role in this one cos he was more pronounced. On another note, Steve Martin can really pull off lots of characters very well. Overall, another great movie.
35
Buppha Rahtree (Rahtree: Flower of the Night) 2004,  Unrated)
Buppha Rahtree (Rahtree: Flower of the Night)
I've never seen a horror movie that had pretty comedic moments like this one. Yes, granted that it was definitely scary in its own way but there were definitely quite a number of scenes that were humorous. Even though the gore factor was retained, I liked how the horror aspect does not really stem fully from the scary elements but also the emotions displayed from the lead characters. Overall, interesting but it does get pretty flat in a few scenes.
36
Body sob 19 (Body #19) 2007,  Unrated)
Body sob 19 (Body #19)
I saw the DVD at a movie rental store and just impulsively rented it. The movie was indeed very interesting. I liked that there was a dual-view mode going on in this movie and that it was so full of twists and revelations that it kept me glued to the screen. The ending was pretty creepy too which kinda closed off the movie nicely.
37
Whispering Corridors 1998,  R)
Whispering Corridors
A friend of mine recommended me this movie, citing that this movie made the expansion of the Korean horror movie genre in these years. Curiosity got the better of me so I watched it. It had a Japanese horror flick-esque flair to it which didn't seem that original. However, the movie wasn't that bad. It's a good start to the series and I do hope the other movies will be much better.
38
Memento Mori 2000,  R)
Memento Mori
Well, the storyline for this movie was indeed different than the 1st Whispering Corridors movie's one. I liked that this movie was pretty bold in terms of overall content but the horror sequences were a bit lackluster in my opinion. Overall, I rate this movie just above average but not so great either.
39
Whispering Corridors 3: Wishing Stairs 2003,  R)
Whispering Corridors 3: Wishing Stairs
Definitely the scarier movie after Whispering Corridors 1 & 2. I liked that the storyline was so unassuming an yet everything falls into place nicely at the end. My only complaint it that the ending was a little too vague and wasn't that interesting.
40
Yeogo goedam 4: Moksori (Whispering Corridors 4: The Voice) (High School Girl's Ghost Story 4: Voice Letter) (Ghost Voice) 2005,  Unrated)
Yeogo goedam 4: Moksori (Whispering Corridors 4: The Voice) (High School Girl's Ghost Story 4: Voice Letter) (Ghost Voice)
This is definitely one of my favourite movies in the Whispering Corridors series. I like that the movie plot was so damn well directed. I was engaged and the horror moments were pretty defined. Its kinda sad though that the closing movies are the better ones. Overall, I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to watch a movie in this series.
41
Whispering Corridors 5: A Blood Pledge 2009,  Unrated)
Whispering Corridors 5: A Blood Pledge
This last instalment is also one of my favourite movies in the Whispering Corridors. Again, the director had thought of the movie plot very well. I liked that the ghost in this movie was actually unlike the other ghosts in the previous movies. The horror and gore moments were still retained well but I felt it could have been improved. I'm glad that the series is over. =)
42
P (The Possessed) 2005,  Unrated)
P (The Possessed)
Just another Thai horror flick with the usual mix of horror, gore and predictable storyline. The characters in this movie were too common in the sense in which most Thai horror movies portray such similar kind of characters most of the time. Overall, a pretty decent movie, if you have run out of horror movies to watch...
43
Poltergeist 1982,  PG)
Poltergeist
First of all, what the hell did I just watch? I admit, there were some scenes that were pretty good and stuff but this movie is really confusing and doesn't even make sense at some parts. Overall, another weird horror movie that will make u keep wondering what it was actually...
44
Death of a Ghost Hunter 2007,  Unrated)
Death of a Ghost Hunter
Surprisingly, this was a good, low-budget horror movie. I liked that there storyline was very intriguing and this movie was WAY better than the Paranormal Activity series. However, the movie generated some hype about whether it was really based on true stories or was it totally a fiction work by the producers...This made the movie seemed more mysterious than it should be. Oh well, shall not rake up unnecessary shit. Overall, a decent watch.
45
Lionheart (Wrong Bet) (A.W.O.L.: Absent Without Leave) 1990,  R)
Lionheart (Wrong Bet) (A.W.O.L.: Absent Without Leave)
Shit, son. Jean-Claude Van Damme ruled in this movie. There's something about movies like this which is action-packed but always had those elements of realism and life in it. It may be just me but old action movies really pack a punch back then. Overall, a great old-school action movie. =)
46
The Shepherd: Border Patrol 2008,  R)
The Shepherd: Border Patrol
Disappointing. I mean, you got a solid actor (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and the producers could only pull off this? The story flow was abrupt and all over the place, characters were poorly acted out for the other roles and lastly, the action was cringe-worthy. Overall, would't watch it again.
47
Noroi the Curse 2005,  Unrated)
Noroi the Curse
This is way better than the Paranormal Activity movies. The Japanese have really perfected the art of making great horror movies. Overall, chilling and intriguing. Kept me on the edge of my seat and the spookiness was just right.
48
DOA: Dead or Alive 2007,  PG-13)
DOA: Dead or Alive
First of all, what the hell did I just watch? I mean, I get it, it's an adaptation from a video game but this movie was unforgiveable. I have no idea what the producers were thinking. Obviously, only guys will enjoy this movie for the chicks and "hotness". Overall, wasted my time.
49
The Holiday 2006,  PG-13)
The Holiday
I'm not really a fan of romantic-comedy movies but this one was really nice. I loved the story and it fit the festive season of Christmas when I watched it back in December 2011. Great acting from Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet. Definitely unusual choices for male leads but it did indeed fit in with the whole movie concept. Overall, a great holiday movie.
50
Chakushin Ari (One Missed Call) 2004,  R)
Chakushin Ari (One Missed Call)
Need I mention how the Japanese are good at crafting great horror movies...I loved that the links that intertwine the story and horror were so shocking and definitely built a good suspense until the end. Well, not bad for a first part of a series.
51
Chakushin ari 2 (One Missed Call 2) 2005,  R)
Chakushin ari 2 (One Missed Call 2)
This second part of the series was no disappointment. I loved how the producers developed the plot further and added other elements that complimented the existing storyline well. Can't wait to watch the last part and see how it all ends...
52
Chakushin ari final (One Missed Call Final) 2006,  R)
Chakushin ari final (One Missed Call Final)
This was a nice ending for the One Missed Call series. The storyline was even better than the second one. The actors were suited well to their roles. AND, Jang Geun Seuk was in this which was such an OMG moment. Horror + Suspense + Eye Candy (Jang Geun Suk Oppa) = Nice!
53
The Suicide Song 2007,  Unrated)
The Suicide Song
Yes, another Japanese movie I'm reviewing. I love horror movies, deal with it. Enjoyed the storyline but movie was a little lacking for me. Dunno why but the ending was nicer than the beginning. Overall, not too bad but most probably not gonna watch this again.
54
Rinne (Reincarnation) 2005,  R)
Rinne (Reincarnation)
Storyline was such a mind****. BUT, it made the movie very interesting. I especially liked the scenes where the 'past' mixed with the 'present'. Those scenes really gave the movie some oomph. Overall, interesting movie and one I would recommend for the twisting storyline.
55
Ouija Board: Bunshinsaba 2004,  R)
Ouija Board: Bunshinsaba
Another mind**** movie. Again, I liked the direction of the storyline but it felt like there were so many twists intersecting each other that the main plot got drowned a little. I do however, liked the choice of actors & actresses because the roles were very well-played. Good attempt at trying to make the movie more original. Overall, decent enough for a horror movie night
56
The Breakfast Club 1985,  R)
The Breakfast Club
I'm a 90s kid but I enjoy watching 80s movies so much. First time watching this and I was hooked. John Bender is such an amazing character and a hot one, at that. Molly Ringwald was awesome as Claire too. I think the Breakfast Club group was so amazing and crazy. I liked the scene when they were all 'high' and did crazy shit. Overall, totally amazing movie and I would watch this again. :)
57
Teen Witch 1989,  PG-13)
Teen Witch
OMG, the 80s was really crazy in a good way. I liked the main character, Louise and the plot was really nice. Love the setting, scenes and the trends too. The music was pretty funky too. Overall, another 80s hit I absolutely would watch again. :)
58
Some Kind of Wonderful 1987,  PG-13)
Some Kind of Wonderful
WOW! Movie was awesome. I love the friendship duo here. Keith & Watts = Perfect together. I just love how the message of the movie came across when it comes to love, friendship, decisions and growing up. The actor who plays Keith is so cute. (LOL) Teehee. Overall, a very cute and yet entertaining teen flick. :)
59
Secret Admirer 1985,  R)
Secret Admirer
OMG, what a crazy movie. That 1 letter really made this movie so enjoyable to watch with the chaos amidst the letter confusion. Had so much fun watching this and the lead actor is so freaking cute! Overall, a good movie that I would watch again.
60
Cobra 1986,  R)
Cobra
I know, this is a totally cliched 80s action flick but what the hell, its Sly Stallone so movie is AWESOME! He owned everything in this movie and despite some totally weird scenes, movie was entertaining to watch. Overall, quite a nice watch.
61
Lock Up 1989,  R)
Lock Up
Yes, you can tell that I'm a great Sly Stallone fan. Wonderful movie, that's all I can say.
62
La posesión de Emma Evans 2010,  Unrated)
La posesión de Emma Evans
Surprisingly, this was a good movie. I love the twist at the end regarding Emma's shocking revelation and the one truly behind it. However, some parts could be improved like making the movie more realistic and not too cliched. Overall, a pretty decent movie for horror movie night.
63
An American Haunting 2006,  PG-13)
An American Haunting
Was expecting a good movie but sadly, this movie was a tad disappointing. I mean, the Bell With as a subject matter was great and had lots of potential to be explored but the movie was very lacking in that aspect. The horror scenes were unoriginal, plot was boring and the characters could be more prominent instead of being rather blended together. Overall, not something I would recommend.
