A wonderfully directed foreign film from Michael Haneke,which boggles the sadistic nature of the perpetrators of the film. The criminal duo dressed in all white, non-threatening demeanor,and an unpredictability of human behavior shows its sadistic nature on a rather unsuspecting family. The longitude of their captivity only reinforces the duo's intentions, an over coating of niceties on the exterior and the macabre workings of a sociopath.Arno Frisch captures such a realistic depiction of such a charismatic and disarming villain, even breaking the fourth wall and including the audience to feel more engaged in the story.
