Awwww!!!!! What a lovely sweet film.

Starts of very funny and light hearted with the great narration then evolves into a heart warming story about living life to the fullest and taking chances. Before finally becoming this Beautiful heart- wrenching emotionally compelling tale of accepting death. (wait whats with all the hearts?...never mind cutesy films have this effect on me probably why i aviod them)

A truelly excellent film with a great story and Fantastic acting especially from Will Ferrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Emma Thompson. Very touching, charming and thought provoking , it left me rather enchanted and a really fantastic ending too.

As Good As It Gets 1997,  PG-13)
As Good As It Gets
"I'm dying here!" ya gotta love Melvin. from the moment he enters the screen and shoves the li' doggie down the garbage shoot, he commands attention in his performance. From then on it's a laugh riot as the Obsessive compulsive who is sexist, racist, homophobic, extremely rude, and agressive, begins to readjust his life and actions when he falls for a waitress (helen hunt) with a sick son.

The acting from Jack Nicholson, Greg Kinnear and Helen Hunt is excellent, and Cuba Gooding jr is strangly cast but works well. Its the collection of tender moments and the totally uncomprimising UN- PC nature of melvins comments and actions that really makes this film great. Some excellent quotes too, 'People that talk in metaphores oughta shampoo my crotch"

The progression of his character is beautifully done and as gratting as his comments are to some, you still find yourself routing for Melvin till the very end!

America's Sweethearts 2001,  PG-13)
America's Sweethearts
I don't know what it is that I like about this film. It has none of the usual elements I tend to be drawn to like blood, gore, drama, thrill, action, supernatural, crime or violence. But something keeps making me watch it again.

Its not even a fantastic film, simple plot, some OK acting, lackluster characters, romantic story and very very very bad acting/accent from Hank Azaria.

I just don't know, i love Billy Crystal's character Lee, and his acting is pretty good and he provides great comic relief like when Gwen's Doberman gets a little excited with crotch sniffing Crystal suggests "a little to the right...ahhh right there!"

Also i loved John Cusack as Eddie Thomas. Perfectly amount of sweet, neurotic, Totally fucked up mentally, misguided hopeless lovesick puppy. But his leading ladies, Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones, are Shit with a capital SHIT!! no passion no substance Zeta Jones the mega bitch act more like a spoilt child but with out the balls to be the nasty cow she's trying to be. And Roberts is just annoying, whiny and weak.

Another 2 Characters/ Actors i really liked were Stanley Tucci as the studio boss, who thinks Eddie's suicide would be the best thing for the premiere as it would boost dvd sales! And Christopher Walken as the Crazy eccentric movie producer holding the film hostage from his uni-bomber shed on his secluded estate!

Maybe its just lighthearted and funny enough to relax to but i still think to me this is great!

Evan Almighty 2007,  PG)
Evan Almighty
That's Right Folk's Evan Baxter the Gibberish talking, Polished Organised Neat freak News reporter is back. Newly Elected to Congress by the people And Newly Elected As New York Noah by God.

Amen People, The Wierdo With the Beardo, Evan Baxter has been chossen to save the animals from the flood. He has it easy God has provided Animals to march 2 by 2, A family to help build it, Wood and tools, heck he even throws in a magical staff and comfortable robes. But Evan is by no means about to give into the notion and fights it all the way.

God film, Fantastic cast especially Steve Carrell as Evan, John Goodman as head of congress And Morgan Freeman as God. Some good comedy moments, generally light hearted fun But not in the same caliber as Bruce almighty. for a much more wider, younger and quite possibly dumber audience. i dont mean it nastily, but the jokes were either toilet humour, dumbed down or just mainstream wisecracks that weren't that funny. Some Funnier visual jokes like his beard continually regrowing while shaving but nothing side splittingly funny except for the pre-credit song ( in the same vein as the song at the end of The $0 Year Old Virgin)

So remember everything god does to or for us is because he loves us....Well apparently.

pleasantly surprised with this one. I thought 4 guys on bikes open road trying to rekindly their youth. Too likely to be dull and full of cheap gags. Then the cast wasnt really a comic genius's I mean yeah you have Martin Lawrence and Tim Allen, both funnyish but Travolta and Macy hmm could they pull it off?

The gags are funny, the story developes nicely and the characters are likeable. Even the bad guys are cool to watch especially Ray Liotta as the leader of the Evil Del Feugo gang.

There are some incredably funny moments and a few gay inuendo scenes altimately from a horny motorcycle cop played excellently by John C McGinley! Its a great film to entertain and is fun to watch.

But then I do love seeing grown men drive into trees and emerge shouting " Its ok I only hurt my face!!"
