Can you believe a man could fly? That was there slogan before it came out in '78. They blew away audiences. Christopher Reeves became a legend and Superman became a recognizable icon in American Pop culture once again. Richard Donner was a spectacular Director and had a great vision of the man of tomorrow. We can only hope Bryan Singer carries on his vision with more Superman Movies. |

Supergirl 1984, PG)
07-25-08 --I really wish they would re-make this film. They really didn't do anything special with Supergirl in this movie. Although it was '84. One year after Superman 3 so, you know Warner Bros. was like smoking something bad back then. I mean when she got to earth she knew Clark Kent and who Superman was and never any mention of Kal-El. The writing was so dumb because they put stuff in that was never explained. You know people just suddenly knew stuff. Remake Please!!! |

Superman IV: The Quest for Peace 1987, PG)
Anytime you create a character for a comic to film movie you are doing a GREAT disservice to the comic book themselves. Nuclear man was created for the sole purpous that Superman was fighting nuclear war and he needed another villain. Lex Luthor wasn't enough so they created a Nephew to join him. Hollywood needed a kick in the balls when they released this movie. It almost killed any future movies. 2007 Superman Returns from 1987. |

Batman 1989, PG-13)
8-18-07 --The hype that surrounded the release of this movie was unreal. I saw bat signs everywhere. On tv, radio and children everywhere Batman was huge. This is my 3rd favorite Batman movie. Behind "Batman Begins" & "Batman Returns". Michael Keaton was pretty decent as the Caped Crusader. Too Short to be the dark knight but decent. Kim Bassinger can't act so that was so so. I can't believe they casted Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent (future Two-Face). Where were they going with that one? |

Batman Returns 1992, PG-13)
8-19-07 --Visually this is better than the first. You can tell they have a bigger budget with this movie. Unfortunately this is where you can see the franchise getting campy. Not quite but you can see it headed in that direction. Michael Keaton returns as Batman which helps. and Catwoman added a good "secret" romance factor. Definately best of the "Catwomen". Heck even the penguin was creepy enough to say they did pretty good with this movie. |

Constantine 2005, R)
At first I thought Keaunu Reeves What? but then I watched the movie and thought... "nice". Even though he wasn't the "David Bowie" image from the original "Hellblazer" comic series he did a justice to the part as John Constantine. The main thing is that it wasn't over the top. I bet the second one will be darker and deeper than the first if they ever make a sequel. |

V for Vendetta 2006, R)
This was like a ten issue run... and they made a movie out of it. They were stretchin' for this one. I liked the movie and all but for DC to quickly get the rights and make a movie just seems to me as if they were fighting with Marvel for screen time. Hurry, Hurry lets get enough property characters that seem "real to life" vs. our fantasy Superman, wonder woman, Aquaman properites so that we can compete with Marvels real life superheroes." |

Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut 2006, PG)
It's amazing how the editing on a movie makes the movie. Sure the Movie has the same plot but the additional footage (which is a lot) makes it a whole different movie. It's kinda like watching a bunch of deleted scenes put together. Which is essentially what they are. I didn't like the ending Richard Donner chose to use. But then again I didn't like the turning back of time in the first one either. Good movie if you are a fan of the man of steel. |

The Dark Knight 2008, PG-13)
07-20-08 --Heath Ledger as the Joker was amazing. He did so well I often did not see Heath AS Joker, all I saw was the Joker. And that is good. I heard some talk about Christian Bale overacting the voice (gruffyness) of Batman but, I only noticed it like twice and wasn't a big deal. The "Bat-cycle" kicked major ass. I so would want one of those! The overall story was long. Engaging though. I loved the fact they made this movie 2 1/2 hours but they could have shaved like 20 minutes at least. The ending was left leaving you wanting more. Two face was actually done right this time! I'm so glad. I didn't really like Maggie G. in replacement of Katie Holmes but I got over it quick. Great Cast all the way around. Again, its sad that Heath is gone because he did a great job. |
