Naturally,more than a century has passed and I'll be damned,am I the only one thinking factories are still exploiting their laborers?Ha,of course this 40-second reel doesn't prove anything but I feel it's striking to say the least of what the Lumières achieved at a time period where few would have desired to study a casual workers' exit,in which women seem to have dominated the factory's staff!

A delight and I would easily enjoy it for a second and twenty-second time.Along with Porter's western short,these excellent pieces of art are proof of the first masterpieces in movie history.The full moon however seemed a bit creepy with the giant eyeball!

This will divide lots of viewers and still,a great amount of population will rise to the fact of political mendacity.Which is correct,no doubt about this.I really want to know however if all of the "audience" praising Scarface (De Palma's mediocrity) and Forest Gump (Zemeckis' sobbing flick) can realize the racist message in those films and not just in Birth of a Nation e.g. Puerto Ricans and low I.Q. people.Strange feeling,isn't it?Condemn the quality of a movie first and then we discuss the f***** political context!

A Woman of Paris
What distincts A Woman of Paris is the line between its overt melodrama and the glorious feature-film period in which Chaplin entered with The Kid.Here,he experimented without his beloved Charlot and yet,Menjou is stellar and so is the usually briosa Purviance.
Predictable and sticking to the strictly condemned love affair,I can only applaud the effort,plus the ironic output,even if he isn't at his most magnificent.

A frivolous account of a couple in nausea (the adults were intoxicated with LSD all the time) and a small kid perplexing the distance in accordance to Garrel's hypnotic visuals thanks to Michel Fournier's spectacular camera lighting!
This is not for the drowsy folks,this is pure cinematic form,no words,just vast landscape,stares,actions,a photographic series of self-reflection. Garrel surpassed this 6 years later with Les Hautes Solitudes.
