Warning: Lies paving over genocide marketed as history. Don't show this to children. Racism Infantilization of Natives Unrealistic Portrayal of Body Types
The dimensions of Pocahontas' head freak me out. Her mother was probably a Paranthropus boisei or something.
Criminal historical inaccuracy. It's not "just a kids movie". Kids who are told that the genocide of natives was/is? a two-way street, and resulted from *misunderstandings* are actually just being taught how to be racist. And they make light of the racism involved by having her fall in love with John Smith, who has "dealt with hundreds of indians before", and "these ones are different. these are the good indians". These portrayals actually effect people you know.
DEAR NATIVE COMMUNITY. I'm sorry. These people are far more interested in looking like good people than in being good people. I'm sorry for this shit.
I like how in the book the Wild Things weren't male or female, because they didn't need voice actors. To hear them masculinized and feminized is corrupting to my enjoyment.
