Might be my favorite movie ever. Great cinematography, enthralling plot, and Oh Dae Su is an amazing character. Has one of the best fight scenes in history.
Everyone is so charming in this (well, except Blond Wig Woman... seriously, what was so intriguing about her?), and it's definitely the most accessible of Wong Kar Wai's films. I didn't even mind hearing California Dreamin' 80,000 times.
This creature is the cutest thing I've ever seen. It has some really sad parts and they abuse CJ7 a bit too much for my liking, but it's a really cute movie.
I know this has some really creepy moment in it, but I can't remember what they were. Months after seeing it, I mostly remember it being silly but kind of fun to watch.
A Korean mix of American Pie and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Surprisingly funny, and I don't even like gross-out college kid sex romp movies. It turns somewhat serious toward the end with a botched abortion, but still a fun movie overall.
It's unfortunate that these kinds of movies get billed as horror films... because they aren't. This is mostly a drama about two teen lesbians in a Korean girls school. It was ok, but the "scary" elements kinda ruined an otherwise interesting story.
The acting is amazing, but it was all just too much for me to take. Watching these characters is difficult and painful and by the end of it, I needed a serious hug.
Very strange movie, and very hard to follow. Subliminal messages and trend-following pretty much sums it up, right? I think it's helpful to know something about Japanese society before you can get everything that's going on. Lots of metaphors/symbolism.
This movie must be pretty bad, because I watched it a few months ago and I can't remember a thing about it. I remember thinking that it was weird, but that's about it.
I spent half the time with my hands over my eyes saying, "oh jesus". It's disgusting and disturbing, but also very funny with a surprisingly heartwarming message. It's a very dark shock comedy.
Boring and pretentious. I'm not even completely against movies that are boring and pretentious, but I just couldn't take this. Although I did enjoy the the storyline about the yakuza boss.
