Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 1937,  G)
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Re-watched it this night, after more than 10 years since the last time I saw it when I was a kid... And I must say this is one of the most magical movies I have ever seen. Almost every scene has become a classic and a signature everyone would recognize. This movie is so special (main reason: first feature animated film ever made) - made more than 70 years ago and still alive in everyone's minds.
Fantasia 1940,  G)
Pinocchio 1940,  G)
One of those strange cases in which an animated movie 70 years old impresses the viewer. Original, freaky, hilarious, everything you could possibly wish for in a movie.
Dumbo 1941,  G)
Bambi 1942,  G)
Absolutely on the top 3 animated movies of all time. Bambi is a movie about growing up and the bumps on the way. With some of the most amazing scenes and beautiful images, a magestic musical background, unforgettable characters. It is the most mature Disney movie ever made, with topics so shocking that I stood frozen for a moment. The mother´s death is very dramatic, but the scene when the hunters are at the forest at the ending steals the show. I can´t stop thinking about that "suicidal" pheasant...
An exploration on new animation techniques, a marvelous story... Bambi shows the best of Mr. Walt Disney.

PS: I thought Flower was a female throughout the whole movie, until the end... lol.

Kaze no tani no Naushika (Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind) (Warriors of the Wind)
An epic like no others. Non-stop action with an environmental and peaceful message that will stick to you for a long time.

Hotaru no haka (Grave of the Fireflies)
Oh my God, I can't believe that the saddest movie I have ever seen is animated! The first scene is also the most impressive attack scene ever seen. This movie was so tragic, I think I wouldn't smile for about an hour after seeing this movie! Visual masterpiece, I loved the idea of the fireflies that die so young and linking it to Setsuko, who at the end seems to have her own glow. Very good.
Akira 2001,  R)
The revolution will not be televised.
Oliver & Company 1988,  G)
My Neighbor Totoro 1988,  G)
My Neighbor Totoro
A magical and beautiful Miyazaki masterpiece full of characters easy to love and a fantastic story.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit 1988,  PG)
The Little Mermaid 1989,  G)
Beauty and the Beast 2012,  G)
Beauty and the Beast
This is one of the movies I grew up with, along with The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Aladdin, etc... But this is one of my favorites, it wasn't for nothing it became the first animated film to be nominated for Best Picture in the Academy Awards. One of the greatest love stories ever made, sincere and full of emotions. This movies is the perfect portrait of the real effects women have on men, even the hardest of us falls in love and shows up the romantic side. With great great music and songs, all unforgettable (Belle, Be Our Guest, Beauty and the Beast, etc) and one of the most magical and greatest scenes ever on animation: the dinner musical for the song "Be Our Guest", amazing! A perfect movie for all ages and that will last for many years.
Aladdin 1992,  G)
One of my favorite childhood movies, a great success in animation with some of the greatest songs out there, specially "A Whole New World": the instant love classic. Aladdin manages to create a simple and famous story into a complex movie, with so many characters to love (and hate). One of the most magical films by Disney, to me it kind of descends the quality after Disney's masterpiece Beauty and the Beast, but still this is a great movie! And also, Robin William's performance as the Genie makes it even better, one of the most entertaining voice-works for any animated movie, funny and clever, Robin Williams surprises even "dressed" as an animated character. This movie is a timeless classic, recommended to every children, I hope this movies will not die to show them to my kids, Disney's return changed my life and the one of thousands of people, specially those who were children in the 90's!

Toy Story
First attempt of an all-digital made motion picture and it totally worked out! The whole package is great, the characters are unforgettable, the story is awesome, music is excellent. Everything with Toy Story is just so right! An instant classic, best movie 1995!!
Hercules 1997,  G)
Princess Mononoke (Mononoke-hime) 1999,  PG-13)
Princess Mononoke (Mononoke-hime)
No doubt Miyazaki is one of the most influential directors of the past years and it completely shows on Mononoke-hime. A violent, magical and beautiful movie with a strong environmental message that will never be outdated. A film to love.

I'm speechless...
Ratatouille 2007,  G)
At least once in a while, a movie turns out to have something really special. Last year I must say it was Little Miss Sunshine's time, now on 2007 I assert Ratatouille has it. But I mean not only for being a great film, but for having soul, with a bit of entertainment and amusement. For breaking down clichés and rules of the genre. Ratatouille is one of the most entertaining movies I had seen in a while. And I mean it, because in every movie, when the characters get angry one-another, it lasts for hours, but in Ratatouille problems are solved quickly, so you don't get stressed out with uncomfortable moments. The graphics are stunning, beautiful, just like Paris itself. The characters are amazing, I mean, Remy, Chef Skinner, Linguini and the rest may be memorable for years. I just watched it for the second time, and liked it even more. I highly recommend for everyone, if you haven't seen it. I remember the last line in the movie, when Anton Ego said to Remy "Surprise me!", I felt like telling that to Disney Pixar, and they totally nailed it. Best movie of the year so far!

Golden Apples:
1) Best light and color usage
2) Best comedy/family movie
3) Best animated film
Shrek the Third 2007,  PG)
The Simpsons Movie 2007,  PG-13)
The Simpsons Movie
Hilarious and clever, keeps truth to the series, including almost every character and introducing some new ones in a good way. A funny movie to watch!
Surf's Up 2007,  PG)
Surf's Up
Though the story is a little bit dull, the mockumentary style of the film makes it a gem.
Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! 2008,  G)
Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!
Visually fantastic, funny and with a moral = perfect recipe for a Best animated feature nomination? Maybe... Finally a good film based on a Dr. Seuss's story! By the way, excellent sound effects! It really has something!
WALL-E 2008,  G)
Best animated feature this year, and as on 2007, another Pixar movie is the one to get me on the first half of the year (Ratatouille last year). Very imaginative and a very poignat ecological message. Great animation and characters, I can't believe this is almost a silent movie in the XXI century! I loved that. Hundreds of movie references make this even better.

*I'm sorry... I had to buy it on DVD! I just had to!
Kung Fu Panda 2008,  PG)
Kung Fu Panda
It actually surprised me! I was expecting a c$@ppy movie, mainly by the trailers (ironically) that made this movie seem as a non-sense stupid jokes flick. But it is something more. It's actually very entertaining, with amazing battle scenes, and original animation! A must see this year.
Waltz with Bashir 2008,  R)
Waltz with Bashir
Ok, now I am depressed... Still an artful masterpiece, with some kind of documentary style and great animation techniques that make it unique.
Bolt 2008,  PG)
Disney played safe with this one, recycling old story lines such as the clichéd road adventure throughout USA, the same drama used in Toy Story of the superhero who can not tell what's reality and what's not, the quirky characters that go with him the whole journey and the "guy" saving the girl at the end. Still a fun movie to watch, the feel-good movie of 2008.
Coraline 2009,  PG)
Rewatched this film, it seriously is amazingly scary.
Up 2009,  PG)
The most "awww" movie I've seen for a long time! Very creative and with that Pixar-genius that never fails. Yet one of their most thrilling and action-packed. And yeah, I cried twice.
Mary and Max 2009,  G)
Mary and Max
Well, yeah. I'm convinced this is the best animated feature film of the year. Sweet and emotional yet very mature and powerful.
Fantastic Mr. Fox 2009,  PG)
Fantastic Mr. Fox
This movie was so fun and entertaining I might plan to watch it again someday soon! Loved EVERY single character. I really mean it, this is one of the funniest movies on 2009!
9 2009,  PG-13)
Well, visually was fascinating, but the story didn't quite reached the spot.
Brendan and the Secret of Kells 2009,  Unrated)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3) 2009,  PG)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3)
Actually better than I expected, it has some funny scenes, sure it is cheesy and dumb but is a perfect movie just to relax and enjoy a little bit of quirkiness. Though some of the character development left me hanging clueless, still relatively enjoyable.
How to Train Your Dragon 2010,  PG)
How to Train Your Dragon
Toothless reminded me of my cat haha. Very enjoyable, with some flaws and clichés but with amazing animation and fun characters!
Toy Story 3 2010,  G)
Toy Story 3
I guess the fact that I grew up with both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 will bias my opinion about this movie. I found this movie highly entertaining, the animation was fantastic. Based on some of the scenes, I will say Pixar wanted to take the classic story about toys to a whole new level. I cried twice because I couldn't stop thinking about my toys :(
The Illusionist (L'illusionniste) 2010,  PG)
The Illusionist (L'illusionniste)
A magical and beautiful story that portrays the ever existing generation gaps and a side that no one seems to think about of the consquences of society development.
Despicable Me 2010,  PG)
Despicable Me
Just fun, but nothing unforgettable about it.
Tangled 2010,  PG)
