The Craft 1996,  R)
The Craft
This is a decent movie about a group of high school girls at a private school who form a bond and learn to become witches. Of course some of them abuse their new found power. This is a solid story of the supernatural. The film has a great young cast with Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk and Neve Campbell as some of the witches. The F/X was decent. Has a entertaining story. It was a solid watch. Worth a one time watch.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
This is a good film. A great first film for the series. I can see why kids and adults really like it.I've never read the books but I really enjoyed the film. The film has a great cast. A great story with mystery, adventure, magic, supernatural and action makes for a great film.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
This is a good sequel. I've never read the books but the film has a great story and special effects. All the cast do a great job in their roles. A good story with a mix of mystery, adventure and the supernatural. A good film to watch.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Lord of the Rings is the best fantasy movie ever made. Very close to the books. The Ring Wraiths are just how I pictured them. Also the casting of Ian McKellen as Gandalf was awesome. He looked and sounded the part of Gandalf when ever I read the books. In fact the entire cast did great in their roles. You can tell that director Peter Jackson was a fan of the books with the care he took to make these films. One of my all time favorite films.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Lord of the Rings is the best fantasy movie ever made. Very close to the books! Love the battle scene in this one. You can tell that Peter Jackson was a fan of the books since he tried to stay true to the books. The entire cast did a marvelous job in their roles. A classic film.
6
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
One of the best fantasy movies ever made. Had a great cast and great special affects. Loved the books and the movie was very close to the them. Peter Jackson was the perfect choice to direct these movies. A great end to the triliogy. A classic film.

The Covenant 2006,  PG-13)
The Covenant
This was a okay movie. Almost a male version of the movie the Craft. About a group of families in Massachusetts that have magical abilities that form a covenant. But one of the families was banished years ago. Now someone is back from that family for revenge. The story is okay. The cast was okay. The ending of this movie was kind of weak. Some of the F/X and action is decent enough in this. This story would have been better as a long television series.

The Wizard of Oz 1939,  G)
The Wizard of Oz
A classic movie. Great for kids and adults. I watch this movie once a year on TV since I was a child. I like how the film goes from black and white to color when Dorthy enters Oz. Classic characters and classic songs. A film that still stands the test of time.

Return to Oz 1985,  PG)
Return to Oz
This is considered a sequel to the original Wizard of Oz movie. Of course made in the 80's the effects are that much better. But this movie takes a much darker turn then the original musical. Dorothy is sent back to Oz and finds the magical land in trouble from a witch and a Nome King. The film gives us the Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man again. But they play a much smaller role in this movie. We get Tik-Tok and Jack Pumpkinhead as the main characters to help Dorothy. With a much darker undertone some younger kids may not enjoy this. Though adults may enjoy that much more. A solid movie in itself that makes its own mark on the land of Oz world. Worth a one time watch.
10
Labyrinth 1986,  PG)
Labyrinth
One of my favorite films as a child. Great story and animation with the puppets. Jim Henson brings puppets to a new level with this film. Sort of a Wizard of Oz for the 80's. I was quite impressed with David Bowie in this. He plays a great villain in the film. A great supernatural tale for kids and adults.
11
The Dark Crystal 1982,  PG)
The Dark Crystal
This is a classic by Jim Henson. Is such a great film with amazing puppets/animation. A great fantasy story that is dark and twisted. I liked this as a kid and still enjoy this film today. More for kids 8 and up. Can be scary for kids much younger. But worth a watch for adults and children.
12
Shrek 2001,  PG)
Shrek
This is a great animation film. The best of all the Shrek movies. All the characters from Shrek, Donkey, Princess Fiona, Lord Farquad, Gingerbreadman, etc. are all great. I laugh everytime I watch this film. Great humour for kids and adults. Takes elements of tons of fairy tales and makes them new and fresh. A fun story with a great ending. One of the best animation films to watch. A great film for all.
13
Shrek 2 2004,  PG)
Shrek 2
A great sequel. Very funny. Just as funny as the first movie. The jokes and humour are great for kids and adults. A great story that continues from the first film. Great characters are added to the film such as Prince Chraming and Puss N Boots. Overall a great film for all.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 1937,  G)
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
A classic in Disney movies. One of my childhood favorites. The film has excellent animation for the time it was made. Taking a classic story of Snow White and making into a animated film was well done. This film helped set the stage of how other Disney films would be made. Some good musical numbers in the film that always get stuck in your head. A must see for those who enjoy Disney animated films. Great for the family.
15
Sleeping Beauty 1959,  G)
Sleeping Beauty
This is a classic from Disney. Sleeping Beauty was great for it's time and still holds up today as a animated film. The classic story of a cursed princess who can only be awoken from her deep sleep from her true love. Of course then witch will try anything to stop the prince from awaking the princess. I love the scene when the prince must fight the witch in the form of a black dragon. A great film for kids and the family to enjoy.
16
The Little Mermaid 1989,  G)
The Little Mermaid
This is a classic Disney film. Great for the family to watch. This is one of the better animated films to come from the Disney archive. With a simple story about a mermaid who falls in love with a human, The animation is quite good and the film is full a catchy musical numbers. I liked this as a kid and still enjoy today. Worth checking out if you enjoy Disney animated films.
17
Cinderella 1950,  G)
Cinderella
A classic Disney film. Great for a family film. The animation was good for its time. The story is a classic and well adapted into this film. Plus some good musical numbers. Though kids may enjoy this more I still like it since I enjoyed it back in the day. Worth a watch for Disney animation movie fans.
18
Enchanted 2007,  PG)
Enchanted
This is a cute film. Takes the basic animated fairy tale and throws it into modern life. The film is just plain fun and not to be taken serious. Has some funny moments. James Marsden was great in his role as the prince. This film is geared to more of a female audience. But overall a decent romantic comedy.
19
Shrek the Third 2007,  PG)
Shrek the Third
This is a good third instalment in the Shrek series. We get all of the regular cast back. Plus a Justin Timberlake doing the voice of Arthur. The films animation is still great and the films cast of characters are well done and funny. The film still has loads of humour for adults and kids. I still prefer the original film as the best of the Shrek series. But this film is still a fun watch. A good family movie. If you liked the other films then you should enjoy this as well.

Snow White: A Tale of Terror (Snow White in the Black Forest) 1997,  R)
Snow White: A Tale of Terror (Snow White in the Black Forest)
This was a interesting take on the Snow White story. I was so use to the Disney version that this film actually surprised me. It's Snow White in sort of a horror thriller. Sigourney Weaver is great as stepmother who hates Snow White. The story gives itself more of a realistic portray. The story is also very dark. You have more focus on the stepmother at times then you do Snow White. Overall I found this to be a decent movie. Great cast and neat take on the Snow White story. Worth a watch
21
The Witches of Eastwick 1987,  R)
The Witches of Eastwick
This is a movie that has a great cast with a okay story. About three women who have their wishes granted when a new man comes to town. Of course there is always a catch and price for the request since this man is actually the Devil. The movie has a great cast with Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer, Cher and Susan Sarandon. The story was okay. It didn't wow me as I thought it would. Plus the F/X in the end was kind of cheesy. But if your a fan of any of the main actors in it then give it a watch.
22
The Witches 1990,  PG)
The Witches
This is a good film about a group of witches at a hotel who scheme to turn all of the children into mice. A fun film but may be just a little scary for some kids. Angelica Huston is great as the head witch. The F/X is decent in it and decent acting and story all around. Good film for the kids and the family to watch.
23
Hocus Pocus 1993,  PG)
Hocus Pocus
This is a good Halloween movie for kids to enjoy. About a group of kids that release a trio of evil witches. So it is up to them to stop them and their evil ways. The movie is a fun goofy comedy. Bette Midler is great as the lead witch. The movie is a good watch for the kid and the family to enjoy.
24
Shrek Forever After (Shrek 4) 2010,  PG)
Shrek Forever After (Shrek 4)
A great fourth installment in the Shrek movie series. This story is about Shrek making a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to get one day being a regular ogre. But of course the deal is not what it seems and Sherk is thrown in the past with everything changed. This was a fun film. Some very funny scenes through out the film. Many jokes and gags put in for adults and kids to enjoy. Plus the movie has a great story. Great to see all the classic characters from the Shrek series in this. Plus nice to have a villain like Rumpelstiltskin instead of another Prince Charming again for the film. If you enjoyed the other Shrek movies then you should enjoy this as well. Well worth a watch.
