Heathers 1988,  R)
Heathers
Hilarious black comedy! Many great lines throughout this movie. Winona Ryder is great in this movie along with Christian Slater. This is a classic teen movie although it is very different from the rest of the 80s teen comedies. Everyone should check this one out.

Do the Right Thing 1989,  R)
Do the Right Thing
This movie is very in your face when it comes to race relations. The movie takes place all in one day, has a great story, and is one of the most influential films ever.

sex, lies, and videotape 1989,  R)
sex, lies, and videotape
Just by reading the title of this film you can tell it's going to be a classic. Seriously the best drama, it's the one the rest of the 80s dramas were leading up to.
4
Batman 1989,  PG-13)
Batman
The best Batman movie ever! Michael Keaton is so great, intense and with a subtle humor, and then Jack Nicholson is absolutely delicious as the Joker! I love this movie, i've seen it a million times.

Back to the Future Part II
A fantastic and funny follow-up to the first movie. If you liked the first movie, you have to see the sequel.

Pet Sematary 1989,  R)
Pet Sematary
Stephen King is pretty cruel to kids, isn't he? The kid in this is so creepy, one of the craziest in the history of horror. I can't believe the main character in this movie, i mean, why did he think it was a good idea to bring everyone back from the dead after seeing how the cat went crazy from being resurrected?
9
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 1989,  PG-13)
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

13
Steel Magnolias 1989,  PG)
Steel Magnolias
A brilliant adaptation of the play. Good acting, story, characters, everything. It's a very dramatic, comedic, and sad movie, it makes me cry and laugh.
14
Roger & Me 1989,  R)
Roger & Me
The beginning of Moore's documentaries focuses on his hometown and on unemployment. This is one that is very relevant right now, so I recommend watching it.
15
Romero 1989,  PG-13)
Romero
Great movie based on a true story. Good acting, directing, etc. A must see for people who like dramatic real life stories.

I was amazed at this movie, it's very clever, funny, and scary. I loved the kid in the movie too, he was a good actor.

UHF 1989,  PG-13)
UHF
This is a cool movie to check out, especially if you're a Weird Al fan, or if you love spoof movies. He does crazy spoofs of a lot of movies, and it's pretty funny.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989,  PG-13)

Field of Dreams 1989,  PG)

This was a very fun kids movie! It was better than I expected from seeing the previews.
24
See No Evil, Hear No Evil 1989,  R)
See No Evil, Hear No Evil
Hilarious story, although overplayed, I found the movie entertaining to watch. Plus, it's got Pryor and Wilder, and they still worked well together '89.

The Trial of the Incredible Hulk 1989,  Unrated)
The Trial of the Incredible Hulk
I wasn't expecting anything spectacular in this movie which follows The Incredible Hulk Returns, since that movie wasn't so good, but I was surprised. I would've called this one The Incredible Hulk meets Daredevil, though, I mean David doesn't actually go on trial in the movie anyway! He just dreams about it in one really funny scene. Anyway, I really liked the daredevil character in this movie, the actor did a great job. I enjoyed this movie.
38
Lisa 2001,  Unrated)
Lisa
This movie will teach your preteen a lesson. Side note: it says you can watch this on flixster, but that's an older movie of the same name, not this movie!
39
Pembalasan ratu pantai selatan (Lady Terminator) (Nasty Hunter) (Shooting Star) 1989,  R)
40
Weekend at Bernie's 1989,  PG-13)
Weekend at Bernie's
entertaining enough to watch for a while, some funny scenes, but that's about it. It could have been better.
41
Worth Winning 1989,  PG-13)
Worth Winning
Funny movie, I mean it's a predictable romantic comedy, but very enjoyable. I liked how the women turned it around towards the end, it really taught Harmon's character a lesson. Of course, there is a happy ending, not that it matters. Anyway, an overall enjoyable and funny movie with good actors.
42
Out Cold 1989,  R)
43
Collision Course 1986,  PG)
44
Star Trek V - The Final Frontier 1989,  PG)
Star Trek V - The Final Frontier
Although there's an interesting plot, it is not executed well. Plus, there was no need for a star trek 5, they should have stopped at 4.
45
Happy Together 1989,  PG-13)
Happy Together
Although this movie is predictable, unrealistic, and sappy, I sort of enjoyed it. I loved Slater, she gives a good performance, her character reminds me of Liza Minnelli in Cabaret. Of course, Dempsey's character could have been played by many other better actors, but he gives his best in the role. Overall, a so-so movie, but if you're a girl in college, like me, you'll enjoy it anyway.
46
Edge of Sanity 1989,  R)
Edge of Sanity
Although it was interesting to see a movie where Mr. Hyde of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde is actually Jack the Ripper, this movie isn't as visually exciting as the story needs to be. Not enough blood and gore for me. Plus, Perkins was the only good actor in the movie. I did like the ending, though, but the rest of the movie needs more excitement.
47
Under The Boardwalk 1989,  R)
Under The Boardwalk
This is a formulaic movie, no surprises. It's okay to watch only if there's nothing else to watch.
48
My Left Foot 1989,  R)
My Left Foot
Not too bad, I've just never heard of any men named Christie. I'm still with the school that says handicapped people should be played by handicapped people, but the boy in this movie is a pretty good actor. Overall, an interesting film, if you love drama movies, or movies set in Ireland, you'll probably like this movie.
49
The January Man 1989,  R)
50
The Rachel Papers 1989,  R)
The Rachel Papers
A very truthful look at relationships between young adults. The ending is sad and very real. I liked Skye alright, but the main character could have been played by a better actor, maybe Spader? Spader has a tiny part in this movie, he's got like one line. Overall a so-so movie.
51
Teen Witch 1989,  PG-13)
52
Uncle Buck 1989,  PG)
53
Fright Night Part 2 1988,  R)
Fright Night Part 2
Not as good as the original obviously, but entertaining if you don't have anything better to do. It's kinda stupid and maybe doesn't make a lot of sense, I mean he's still afraid of vampires but he's in college, who cares? This doesn't even have a good cast, the great actors from the first movie aren't in this one, if they were it might have been better.
54
The Fly II 1989,  R)
The Fly II
An unneeded sequel just like many movies coming out today.
55
The Return of the Musketeers 1989,  PG)
56
Hot Times at Montclair High 1989,  R)
57
Police Academy 6 - City Under Siege 1989,  PG)
Police Academy 6 - City Under Siege
The sixth of the series just reuses the same jokes from the other police academy movies, few of which are still funny. The only thing that was good about this one was that no one knew who the bad guy was, so it at least had a mystery going for it.
58
Road House 1989,  R)
59
Dead Bang 1989,  R)
Dead Bang
Oh, so boring!
60
Identity Crisis 1990,  R)
Identity Crisis
I liked the actors in this movie, and the story was funny, but the editing and directing were so bad, it was hard to look past it. I really wouldn't recommend seeing this movie, it's pretty bad.
61
When Harry Met Sally 1989,  R)
When Harry Met Sally
This is boring and long, why can't they just get together?! At the end I felt like: what was the point of watching that?
62
All Dogs Go To Heaven 1989,  G)
63
I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle 1989,  Unrated)
64
Glory 1989,  R)
65
Harlem Nights 1989,  R)
66
Sleepaway Camp III - Teenage Wasteland 1989,  R)
Sleepaway Camp III - Teenage Wasteland
The worst of the Sleepaway Camp movies, this one shows you why they should never make more than three movies in a horror series. This film is a really routine 80s slasher, Angela just plain kills everyone. The dialogue is horrendous, the kills are lame, and the characters are stereotypes. The first two movies were creative, fun, and scary, but this last movie doesn't fill any of those roles.
67
Earth Girls Are Easy 1989,  PG)
Earth Girls Are Easy
Earth girls aren't just easy, they're stupid too, at least in this movie. who were they kidding with these aliens? Why were these great actors even in this movie?
68
Cemetery High (Hack'em High) 1989,  R)
