I loved this movie, and it's based on a true story, which makes it even more powerful to watch. I think this is the best movie I've seen about parapsychology and paranormal phenomenon. It's got everything, horror, drama, romance, excitement, and even a bit of comedy. I was really impressed. The special effects are even beyond belief, they were incredibly realistic and horrifying, Winston is a genius. Of course, the story is about the age old fight to get people to believe in the paranormal/supernatural world around us. This is a must see movie for paranormal horror movie fans. I really loved this movie. |

Class of 1984 1981, R)
I loved Roddy McDowall in this movie, I wanted him to be the main character, he was more interesting. The main character's problems at the school are almost exactly like those of the teacher in the movie, Blackboard Jungle, so he was a pretty mediocre character, it was all the other characters who made the story good. I did wish that he could have found some way to get through to the students who were causing trouble the way they do in other teacher movies, but this movie is different, and I liked that. |

Poltergeist 1982, PG)
Be careful watching this movie, it's haunted! I'm afraid for the filmmakers who will attempt to remake this movie. I've heard people say they either dislike or like the movie, I like it. I don't know if anyone loves it, but it is a pretty creepy movie and the stories surrounding the fillmmaking add to that creepiness. |

Fast Times At Ridgemont High 1982, R)
I really love this movie except for one thing which really gets on my nerves: Stacy, the main character, maybe it is just that I don't like Leigh, but she doesn't seem to display enough emotion, for all the stuff her character goes through in this movie, I expect more from her. I mean, she has an abortion, for goodness sakes! You'd think murdering an unborn child would illicit some sort of emotional response in her, but no she says she's fine and goes home, and sheds not one tear. Other than that, I really liked the rest of the characters, the movie is really funny, and it's an 80s classic! Watch this movie for yourself, I could talk about it all day, but watch and see what you think. |

Airplane 2 - The Sequel 1982, PG)
Although this sequel is hilarious, the story isn't very different from the first movie. This one just has more celebrities, like William Shatner and Sonny Bono. If you loved the first movie, you will want to see this one, but if you want to see something different from the first airplane look elsewhere. |

Zapped! 1982, R)
This movie is a lot of fun, it's hilarious to see the two stars of Charles in Charge in high school growing pot and messing around with girls and getting into trouble! Sure the plot sounds stupid like some remake or spoof of Carrie gone wrong, but it doesn't have that feel at all when you watch it, and all the little referential jokes are really very funny and I don't think Carrie is even one of them. The cast is great and there are a lot of really hilarious things that happen in this movie, I loved watching it, it's a lot of fun. |

Murder Is Easy 1981, Unrated)
This TV movie could have been in theatres, I don't know why it wasn't. Bixby is cute as the American who just has to figure out who the killer is because it defies his theory of probability and chance or whatever. The movie is exciting, it's got action, and trying to figure out the mystery is part of the fun. |

One From The Heart 1982, R)
Although it is quite interesting that they were able to film an entire movie on a stage in a theater, I can't decide weather that was a good idea or not. On one hand, the whole movie feels really claustrophobic and everything looks fake. On the other hand, the fake sets enhance the feelings of Garr's character, and the idea that Las Vegas is a fake city. Another device I don't think worked well was the Tom Waits songs sung while the characters were either lying around, walking around, or just sitting around. Why couldn't they sing themselves like in an ordinary musical? They just looked lazy. I loved the part where Raul Julia gets to sing and dance with Terri Garr, it was very romantic. Plus, the ending is predictable, but unexplained. There were a lot of things I liked about this movie, but some things that I didn't like. You just have to see it for yourself. |

Escape Artist 1982, PG)
This movie has an amazing collection of great actors: Raul Julia, Teri Garr, Desi Arnaz, Elizabeth Daily, M. Emmet Walsh. But then the whole movie is more amazing than I can believe. Sometimes this magic movie got me confused as to what was happening on screen, especially in key scenes. And is it just me or does the main character, played by O'Neal, look younger than his character is supposed to be? I found out he was about 16 when they made the movie, but he looks 12 or 13. It was interesting to see Raul Julia as Desi Arnaz's son, and him acting like a kid, but I wanted to see more of him. Overall, a so-so movie, but it is cute, I'll give it that. |

Lo Squartatore di New York (The New York Ripper) 1982, Unrated)
This movie starts out very strange and mysterious and confusing, the identity of the killer is very hard to figure out, I didn't know until the end. The end was actually incredibly sad and unexpected, and I thought that was cool, but the rest of the movie was kind of annoying. This movie could have been better. |

Hanky Panky 1982, PG)
This movie has a good cast, and it's great to see Wilder and Radner working together to slove a mystery, but this movie isn't that good. It just isn't funny. I mean there are a couple of funny things in the middle and towards the end of the movie, but it needs a lot more comedy in the script since it stars comedians. This movie isn't all bad, though, the actors do a good job with the story and it's an interesting adventure. Overall, it's just an okay movie, not good but not bad either. |

Amityville II: The Possession 1982, R)
An okay movie, but it was like a combination of Amityville, The Exorcist, and Evil Dead. The plot was structured in a strange way, I mean the whole family is killed off in the middle of the movie! I wasn't expecting that. This movie is pretty strange even for a horror movie. I wouldn't suggest seeing this movie. |

Swamp Thing 1982, PG) |

| 51 |
Lady Chatterley's Lover 1981, R)
For a movie that's 105 minutes long, there isn't much going on. The movie could have been half as long and told the same story. It is a very romantic story, but her husband was a really strange guy, I wouldn't want to be with him either. Overall, an average romantic drama, with maybe a little more explicit sex than other 80s movies, but nothing spectacular. |

Best Friends 1982, PG)
This movie has some good, funny, dramatic scenes, but for the rest of the movie it's predictable, boring, and unfunny. I'm not sure that Reynolds and Hawn made a good team in this movie either. The rest of the cast was good, and very realistic, but the two of them not so much. This movie starts to get dull and feels long by about the middle of the film. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are a big fan of one of them. |

P.K. and the Kid 1987, PG-13)Good acting from Ringwald as usual, but the story could use some work. I mean, arm wrestling competitions? Really? It's kinda silly at times. They had good drama with Ringwald's character running away from her abusive stepfather, but then Le Mat's character's arm wrestling scenes just get in the way! Overall, I am glad to have found the video of this so I could see another great 80s performance from Molly Ringwald! |

Cat People 1982, R)
A good cast, but a bad movie. The original is much better, this remake is all about sex. Plus, it's redundant, slow, and much too long. Although there is some blood and gore, it's not scary enough to be a horror movie, it's just a bad thriller. It's made well and it's got style, but the story is annoying and very confusing towards the end, and I didn't care for it. overall, not a good remake. |

Visiting Hours 1982, R) |

National Lampoon's Class Reunion 1982, R)
Seeing as this movie was written by John Hughes, I expected more from it. An horror comedy isn't really his kind of movie anyway, though. Since it is a national lampoon movie, it is a stupid spoof of slasher movies. There wasn't much humor in the gags, but it is a zany, quirky, raunchy type of comedy, and if you like that, you may find this movie enjoyable for a while at least. Overall, it could have been a lot better. |

Mysterious Stranger 1982, Unrated)I understand that this was based on a story from Mark Twain, but it's a silly story and this movie probably doesn't do it justice. In the first place I was confused by the time jumping, is he a time traveler or not? It's not really clear, they just chalk it all up to magic and dreams or something like that. Plus, this is a TV movie, so it looks like it was made for TV. I wouldn't recommend watching this. |

The Loveless (Breakdown) 1982, R)
What were they thinking when they picked this script? Or maybe it was the directors? I don't know, but this movie doesn't have enough excitement to be a good biker movie, and it doesn't have enough drama to be a good drama either. Actually nothing happens at all until the end of the movie when you realize there was a story going on, it's just that it isn't presented to the audience. I really did not like this movie. |
