Omen III: The Final Conflict 1981, R)
The perfect ending to the Omen trilogy, exactly the way it will happen. Again there are great actors in this movie as in the first two movies, and the beautiful music score. The only element this horror film lacks is blood and gore, but it doesn't hinder the movie a bit. If you've only seen the first movie, you don't know the whole story, so please watch the second and third (this movie). This movie was really great. |

Ms. 45 1981, R)
I really liked this movie, it wasn't what I expected from the poster, but it was actually really good. Tamerlis plays a mute who, after being attacked by two men in the same day, goes kinda crazy taking revenge on men, for both her own protection and that of other women in New York. Because she can't speak, the movie doesn't have as much dialogue as other movies, and it doesn't have much music either, but visually, it's hypnotic and atmospheric. The ending felt like a dream, I wasn't sure it was really happening until the movie ended. I highly recommend taking a chance on this unique horror revenge (and sorta feminist) movie, I know I enjoyed it. |

Excalibur 1981, R)
I was surprised, this was actually a very good movie. It tells the classic story of King Arthur and the knights of the round table, but with generous amounts of blood and gore. The action scenes are really cool, the actors are great, and the story is epic. The only thing about this movie I didn't like was how long it was, over two hours long. If you take a break in the middle, or if you like longer films, I would highly recommend this movie. |

Eyewitness 1981, R)
I liked this movie, particularly James Woods as the creep who the police suspect just because he's creepy. Plus, Sigourney Weaver is a great actress. The mystery is interesting, although I fell asleep near the end, I was really just tired, I'll have to rewatch this someday, but I know how it ended anyway. I liked the ending. I would recommend this movie. |

Graduation Day 1981, R)This is another movie from Troma, which usually means stupid or over the top type movies, but this one is more of a regular slasher flick of the 80s,although it does have some elements that would remind you of other Troma movies. I found this to be a good balance between the stupid movies from Troma, and 80s slasher movies. This was a good horror movie, I really enjoyed it. |

Halloween II 1981, R)
This is a really good sequel, it explains more of the story, but I don't understand why and how Michael Myers is unable to die. Hopefully that will be explained in the next movie? Another small thing I didn't understand was the use of the song mr. sandman, what did that have to do with the movie? I'd expect that song in a Nightmare on Elm street sequel, but not this. Anyway, this movie was good and scary, and if you like slasher flicks you can't miss the Halloween series. |

First of all, this isn't the first horror comedy movie as the poster says, but it may be the first spoof of slasher films, and it is a good spoof at that. If you are a horror movie fan this is a must-see. There is some really funny stuff in this movie, a good amount of blood and gore, and an unexpected turn at the end, which also spoofs horror movies. |

Happy Birthday to Me 1980, R)
For the most part this movie seemed to be a normal slasher film, but I was surprised by the ending. The movie really confused me, especially because some of the teens looked alike, so I would think: didn't they die? Other than that, I'd say this movie is worth watching. It's not exceptional, but it's pretty good. |

The Cannonball Run 1981, PG)
Although this is just another one of the illegal road race across the country comedy movies, with the same plot as the others, it has a really good variety of stars. I mean, you get to see Jackie Chan fight Peter Fonda, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. arguing with Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLouie, etc. It's pretty cool, and the ending was unexpected. It's not the best road race movie, but it's one of the better ones, and I enjoyed it. |

Bloody Birthday 1981, R)
For the most part this movie was pretty cool, especially the three child actors, who happen to be the killers (don't worry, that's not a spoiler.). Of course, the premise of the story is crazy: the three kids were all born on the same day, which happens to be a day when Saturn wasn't aligned with the other planets or something, so they were born devoid of emotion. Yeah, that doesn't make much sense, but maybe it's so crazy that it works? I'm not sure about that, but this movie wasn't bad. |

Only When I Laugh 1981, R)
Although this film has the word laugh in the title it is not a comedy, it's a drama. It's a pretty good drama too, it's a slice of life type story about an actress and her daughter. The movie starts out good, but then you realize how predictable it is, and that it's not so good. Overall, it's an okay movie, though, Simon is a good writer. |

Arthur 1977, PG) |

Gregory's Girl 1980, PG)
This movie was okay. It was really hard to get used to the accents at first, and I didn't understand some of what was going on in the movie, not just because of the accents, though. The ending wasn't predictable, but it was disappointing after seeing the rest of the movie. Overall this movie wasn't bad, yet it wasn't a great movie either. |

Thief 1981, R)
I didn't get to watch the entire movie, but from what I saw this movie isn't any different from many other similar films. Of course, this has an all star cast and a famous director, but that doesn't always make for a great film. I would like to see this movie again if I can, maybe I will have a better opinion of it the second time around. |

Heartbeeps 1981, PG) |

| 43 |
The Prowler 1981, R)
This movie reminded me of My Bloody Valentine, but the ending wasn't as shocking as it was in that movie. For the most part, this is a routine slasher movie. There is a little gore, but the special effects are pretty good. I really didn't like the actors in this movie and their characters aren't very interesting either. Overall, it's a so-so movie. |

The House By The Cemetery (Quella villa accanto al cimitero) 1981, R)
Maybe I'll need to see this movie again, because I totally did not understand what was supposed to be the shock at the end. I think it the ending was supposed to make the audience understand how the old family that used to live in the house, the mad scientist, and the new family (particularly the kid) are somehow related. Either the film makers didn't do a good job of explaining, or I missed something. |

Road Games 1981, PG)
Road Games is essentially someone trying to make a Hitchcock film that takes place in Australia. The story is exactly like Rear Window except with an able bodied truck driver. The weirdest thing about this movie was that the main actors weren't Australian, and didn't even try to do the accent, yet they're surrounded by Australian actors in the smaller roles. Why not get Australian actors for the main characters? Plus, unlike Rear Window the ending is very unclear and confusing. This movie isn't very good, but it tries to be cool, Keach even gets out some binoculars at one point to hint that this is supposed to be like Rear Window, not that it makes sense for him to use binoculars at that point in the movie. Anyway, this movie fails, but it's not horrendously bad. |

Outland 1981, R)
If you love mystery and thrillers, but would like to take a chance on one set in space, check this movie out. If you love science fiction, you wont care for this film. This movie does do a good job of setting a sort of detective and gangster film noir in space, in terms of set designs and things. The only thing I don't like is that it tells you things about space which any sci-fi fan would already know. Plus, there are many long, boring scenes, and characters we don't care about. Overall, a so-so film. |

Waitress! (Soup to Nuts) 1981, R) |

Puberty Blues 1981, R)
I will preface this review by saying that this movie was not horrible. First of all, this film is more of a biography/documentary of daily teenage girl life in Australia. If you think that would make for a good movie, go ahead and see this movie. If not, read on. Second, this movie is boring. There is little in the way of an actual plot or story, and that made it pretty boring. Lastly, the ending is good, but I don't think it's a good idea to make the audience wait over an hour or longer for something that could have happened much earlier in the film. Anyway, I wont recommend this movie, but I wont tell you not to watch it either. If you are really a fan of serious drama, you may enjoy this. |

The Burning 1981, R)
An average slasher movie, a little less gory than others, but it obviously was trying to ride the wave of summer camp horror movies which were popular at the time, as if they were trying to copy Friday the 13th but just changed the villain. There are some actors who are famous for other movies, but none of them give great performances in this one, everyone seems to just be fooling around. The special effects aren't great either, there were some scenes where you can tell it's fake. I wouldn't recommend seeing this movie. |
