Agophobia is a film that explores a culture of post-human ?Metadata? from the perspective of Ram, a cyborg in that society who wants to escape.
The word Agophobia is a neologism and a working title that means ?fear of the past?. The title refers to the character?s struggles with the ethics and implications of obsolescence, duplication, hybridism, ego simulation, and the oncoming technological singularity point of their world that parallels our own. The characters of the film have internalized the rampant individualism and violent narcissism of their simulacrum society. The story offers metaphoric commentary on how a society inseparable from imagistic digital simulacrums breeds narcissism and identity distortion.
