FEST is a film and an educational event divided in different activities and dimensions that include an official short and long feature film competition, as well as the sharing of information and experiences through its parallel educational event called Training Ground. The main objective of the Festival is the promotion of young filmmakers from all over the world.
Who are the organizers?
Both events are organized by FEST Associao Cultural, a registered NGO focused on education in the audiovisual area.
When and where?
The event will take place between the 26th of June and the 3rd of July (8 days) of 2011, in Espinho, Portugal.

Marie Dubas, one of the most experienced experts on an issue we believe it is both interesting and vital for young cinema, international short films co-productions. It is a recent phenomenon, therefore it was important to find the best professional to demystify this subject.
Irena Taskovski, founder and creative director of Taskovski Films, the independent production company responsible for award winning films such as Village B and Czech Dream.
Chadi Zennedine returns to TG after a successful presence in 2009, when he came to Espinho to present his much talked about film Falling from Earth. The Lebanese filmmaker, who is frequently described as one of the greatest hopes of Middle Eastern film, was the first arab to sign a deal with Disney.
Nicholas Kaiser was responsible for Sales at two large world Sales agencies, Memento Films and Rezo Films, where he developed strategies for introducing material into diferent markets.
Maximillian Van Aertryck will also be present. He was part of the board of Nisi Masa, the European Network of Young Cinema, where he was in charge of several projects such as the European Short Pitch, a project funded by the Eu MEDIA Program.
JULIETTE WELFLING, WINNER OF 4 CESARS AND OSCAR NOMINATED ON FEST ? TRAINING GROUND 2011
This time around FEST will have in its ranks Juliette Welfling, one of the most influential French editors in modern European cinema, most famous for her frequent and successful work with filmmakers such as Julien Schnabel and Jacques Audiard.
Among many others, she has left her mark on masterpieces such as Schnabel`s The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007); the commercial and critical sensation Un Prophete (2009); Miral (2010), De battre mon c?ur s?est arrêté (2005), Sur mês Levres (2001), Regarde les hommes tomber (1994), Un héros très discret (1996), Le Petit Poucet (2001) and Déjà Mort (1998).
Victor Gacia León is one of the most acclaimed spanish filmmakers. In 2006, after Vete di Mi?s premiere, he recieved a flood of compliments by the european press. This film won high-prestiege awards, such as in Peñiscola and Turia?s film festivals and several nominations, as in San Sebastian.
