    Classic Historical Epics

    I see the irony.. xD

I'm in love with most historical epics during my mum and dad's time, like Helen of Troy, Alexander the Great, and Cleopatra. What's yours? :)

I tend not to go for the men in leather skirts putting their nobbly knees on display so I don't have one :) I'll watch Cleopatra though. (I'm guessing Liz isn't playing a soldier in a leather skirt?!)

    No, she's not ;)

Kimmie is right, AA! Go watch Ben Hur and Spartacus and The Ten Commandments! You won't regret it. ;)

Would we give you something that's rubbish?

No moviebuffgirl, no rubbish expected from you :) I've seen The Ten Commandments -- can't remember if I watched it all the way through though. I'll stick with Cleopatra for the minute I think. Ben Hur, honestly, I know it's supposed to be good, but something about it just so puts me off. I dunno. I wouldn't say it's rubbish, just not my thing necessarily, if you know what I mean...

I understand. ;) Helen of Troy, then. Paris isn't as wimpy as Orlando Bloom's portrayal of him in Troy. Maybe you're afraid those skirt-wearing blokes might accidentally flash their knickers? :)) Lol, kidding.

The novel of a room with a view is the best I've ever read that captures the confusion of first love. The film is an excellent adaptation, as long as you don't watch it immediately after finishing the novel.

Project Gutenberg has a room with a view on

    http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/2641

in various formats. I'd go for the .txt of .html formats because the text resizing is easier than for a pdf that might not flow when enlarged.
