Currently robotics in this day haven't gotten to the point of the potential hazards presented in movies like "I robot" or "2010".
So for now you can trust robots to do only what they are programed to.
That's not to say in the future this won't be a concern. As many AI developers are already discovering. With several terabytes of storage needed just to code basic human expression and movement, it will be some time before we see a cognitive robot that betrays humanity. Unless you consider the thousands that have already taken assembly line jobs from workers.
