How can you choose??? They're both the best in the business.......No sorry can't decide!!!! Its just a shame that they haven't worked alongside each other more often. How good would it be to see the 2 of them star in a movie AND share the same scenes?? Pacino and De Niro acting each other off the screen, that would be mind blowing!!!!!!!!
Yep........Michael Corleone killed Don Corleone! Took me a short while to work out what u were on about there. If it came down to it I'd have to go for Robert De Niro. I think he portrays a gangster better than Pacino I've only based that on weighing up the differences in Carlitos Way/Scarface against Goodfellas/Casino and I prefer De Niro's more subtle approach to Pacino's in your face gangster. I commend you on the topic though I've been walking about my work trying to come to some decision all day!
and yes, i find al pacino's shot-those-motherf*ckers attitude kind of annoying, although i cannot deny that al pacino has got his own style. i prefer the subtle approach, which de niro does very well, because you never know when, where, and how he's going to strike.
and he's going to strike HARD, i can tell you that.
I just wanted to say first to 'LESLEY76' that Pacino & De Niro have acting together and share the scene in Micheal Mann's 'HEAT'. The Scene where they are in the cafe talking about doing what they got to do is outstanding. One of my favourite scenes ever. I must see film just to see them face to face.
Both of them are great actors and I love watching them both on the scene. When it comes to which one is the best gangster I would have to say De Niro just based on the way he is as a gangster. Pacino plays it all loud and in your face. De Niro does it quietly with a look rather than vocal. I love 'em both though.
I agree with bumping the thread......What more is there to say really? Unless you've got a point to put across on Pacino being the better gangster!.......Moviebuffgirl i really dont know what youre on about with anger management!
as i was saying before, Robert de Niro exemplifies his subtle approach, but in Anger Management, he lets go of that persona, and that image he gave me was far more "Al Pacino in Scarface" than the typical de Niro persona that i love.
al pacino was great in the movie donnie brasco along wid johnny depp (squeals) but dis aint bout johnny depp so um.. -.- yerrr al pacino was awsum in donnie brasco for any of yus who have seen it it IS a ganster movie and it touched my heart wid the betrayal both johnny and al played beautifully in der
