Nowadays,Wei Zhao is the most popular actress in China,but when she wad a teen,she studied in Wuhu Teacher School and wanted to be a teacher.After first touch of acting,as a guest tiny role in La Painter(1994),starring Li Gong,Zhao determinded to be a seriours actor and entered the china film master-Jin Xie's acting school.Her truely debut is Behind Wall of the Shame(1995),as a major role,directed by Jin Xie.In 1996,due to the highest national acting score,she passed the examination of Beijing Film Academy.She already made appearences in commercial and television series.
In 1998,Wei Zhao played a defiant princess in "Princess Pearl"(1998),which is her first breakthough role in career.For her oustanding performance,Zhao won Golden Eagle Award(China's Emmy) for Best Leading Actress.
Because of splendid success in Asian television industry,from 1999 to 2002,Zhao also known as a boxoffice star for Hong Kong films:The Duel(2000),Shaolin Soccer(2001),Chinese Odyssey2002(2002) and So Close(2002).She nominated her first film award nomination -Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actress in Chinese Odyssey2002(2002).
