Vanness Wu mini-bio: Vanness Wu was born and raised in California, USA. At an early age, he already started breakdancing on the streets of Los Angeles. He was part of the US-based all-Chinese boyband called The L.A. Boyz. He was very much into the hiphop and breakdancing events. He made an appearance in Run DMC's video It's Like That, as one of the male breakers involved in a showdown with a group of girls. Upon the suggestion of friends and family, he went to Taiwan to try his luck in the entertainment industry. He was seen by the producers of Meteor Garden in a male pageant on Super Sunday, a popular Taiwanese variety show. They cast him as Mei Zhuo, a sly and playful guy who valued friendships. His lines in Meteor Garden proved to be a bit difficult for him since he was not quite fluent in Mandarin, yet his English proved to be very useful in his music career.
