Ronnie Dio fronted Black Sabbath, Rainbow, and Dio; three legendary rock acts. The singer's status as a metal icon wasn't jsut luck. he posssesses an awesome singing voice.
His legacy; beloved by metal heads is,
"the 'Devil Horns' greeting", which Dio helped popularize. The sign is a gesture his italian grandmother used to keep away the 'evil eye'
Rock fans attention first came to Dio in the mid-70s while he was the frontman of Rainbow. Rainbow was formed by Deep Purple guitarist Richie Blackmore. Then Dio replaced Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath in 1979. He recorded the studio albums Heaven and Hell and Mob rules with the band.1983 Ronie formed the Band DIO whose debu holy Driver sold more than a million coipes. Most recently he appeared in the 2006 movie Tenacious D & the Pick of Destiny with jack Black, while in 2009 released the album called the Devil you know with former Sabbath bandmates.
