|  Miranda Taylor Cosgrove was born on May 14, 1993 in Los Angeles, California. She has Italian, Welsh, Russian, Armenian and Slavic heritage. She was discovered at the age of three when an agent saw her dancing and singing at a restaurant. He was amazed by her talent and she briefly started doing commercials for the agency. After she finished Elementary School, she was homeschooled in order to pursue her career in stardom. Later on, she started an online school program which she has been doing since 2006.
She began doing commercials for Burger King and McDonald's. As time went on, she auditioned for several roles in both TV and film. In 2003, she landed the role of Summer Hathaway in the movie "School of Rock" co-starring Jack Black. The movie was a huge hit. She then landed a role as Megan Parker, the sister of Drake Bell on the TV series, "Drake and Josh".
In 2005, Miranda starred as Joni North in the film "Yours, Mine and Ours". This was the second time she played the sister of Drake Bell. His character was Dylan North.La Later that year, she starred in a feature length episode of Drake and Josh entitled Drake and Josh go to Hollywood. And another one entitled Drake and Josh:Really Big Shrimp.
Miranda has participated in several shows of Nickelodeon, such as All That, Zoey 101, Just Jordan and Unfabulous.She currently plays Carly Shay in the Nickelodeon series iCarly, which debuted on September 8, 2007.
