 Michael Austin Cera was born June 7, 1988 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, to parents of Linda and Luigi Cera, a Xerox technician. Cera's father is Sicilian. Cera has two sisters, Jordan and Molly. He attended Heart Lake Secondary School. His first role was in a Summer Camp commercial by Tim Hortons.In 2002, Michael won the role of Chuck Barris in "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" in and also was the voice for Brother Bear in The Berenstain Bears animated series and voiced Josh Spitz in the cartoon Braceface. He then came to our attention as George Michael Bluth in the award winning television series "Arrested Development". Though the show won critical praise, it was cancelled just after 3 seasons. He starred as Harold in the award winning surreal humour short film "Darling Darling"in 2005 for which he was awarded Best Actor at the San Gio Festival in Verona, Italy. In late 2006, he created and starred in a parody of the YouTube video "Impossible is Nothing". He also guest-starred in an episode of "Veronica Mars" (in the episode The Rapes of Graff, which also featured Arrested Development co-star Alia Shawkat), and also in the Adult Swim series Tom Goes to the Mayor and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! Michael, along with Clark Duke, wrote and starred in a series of short videos released on their website. In 2007, they signed a deal with CBS Television to write, produce, direct, and act in a short-form comedy series entitled "Clark and Michael". Some of their guest stars were David Cross, Andy Richter and Patton Oswalt.
 Michael shot to superstardom when he was cast alongside Jonah Hill in the hit movie "Superbad", which was written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The film, which opened in North America on August 17, 2007, is semi-autobiographical, with Michael playing a character named Evan. Also in the same year, Michael co-starred in "Juno", written by Diablo Cody and directed by Jason Reitman, playing Paulie Bleeker, a teenager who unexpectedly gets his girlfriend pregnant. The movie was hit, being nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. He was nominated for a Critics Choice Award, an MTV Movie Award and a Teen Choice Award. Next, Michael Cera starred in "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playist", playing the title lead Nick. Michael was nominated for a Satelitte Award. Michael next appeared in the films "Paper Heart", "Year One", and "Youth in Revolt". His upcoming movies include "Scott Pilgrim vs The World", based off the graphic novel and feature film version of the television show "Arrested Development", where Michael will reprise his role as George-Michael Bluth.
 When not filming, Michael enjoys playing his guitar and playing with his band "The Long Goodbye" with Clarke Duke and Christian Buenaventura. Michael was romantically linked to comedian and actress Charlyne Li, his co-star from "Paper Heart", but they broke up in the summer of 2009. Michael splits his time from Brampton and and Los Angeles.
