J. Gordon Cooper mini-bio: The brother of silent star Miriam Cooper (and thus the brother-in-law of director Raoul Walsh), J. Gordon Cooper was mainly an assistant director and production manager but tried his hand at solo directing with such genre pieces as the 1920 serial The Evil Eye, starring prize fighter Benny Leonard, and the 1929 Western Sin Town (1929), the latter produced by a friend of the family, Cecil B. De Mille. Cooper's screen career lasted until 1938. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, Rovi
