Hugh Griffith mini-bio: During WWII Griffith served the army in India and Burma. He began appearing in films in the 1940s, and also had a successful career on stage- even being nominated for the best actor Tony in 1958. He won an Academy Award for best supporting actor in his role in the film "Ben-Hur".
