His major roles have been as Dennis Reynolds on FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and as Corey Howard on the short-lived 2002 sitcom That 80s Show. He also has a recurring role as Ernie, Lester's son, on The Cleveland Show. He has also starred in the films Must Love Dogs, Serenity, and Crank.
