Eva Mendes worked her way up through commercials to music videos to guest roles in television soap operas.Her first movie role came in Children of the Corn 5:Fields of Terror in 1998.She has appeared in such films as Training Day, Stuck on You, Once Upon a Time in Mexico,The Cleaner,The Spirit and as the female lead in the comedy Hitch opposite Will Smith. Her role in Once Upon a Time in Mexico also gave her a nomination at the Teen Choice Awards.

Mendes has also been in commercials for Gushers, Revlon, and Levis. Mendes costarred in Ghost Rider with Nicolas Cage, and In 2008, Mendes starred in The Women, a comedy ensemble film featuring Meg Ryan, Annette Benning, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Debra Messing.
She also has a movie due out this year called Last Night,that stars herself and Keira Knightly.
On Christmas Day her movie "The Spirit was released. Her character name was Sand Saref who is a femme fatale, who perennially seduces and marries wealthy men, has them killed, and uses their money to fund her crime empire The film also stars Gabriel Macht, Samuel L Jackson, Sarah Paulsen and Scarlett Johannson.
