| Emma Bunton Biography: Emma Lee Bunton was born in finchley, London. She was raised a catholic and she grew up in Woodside Park, in the London Borough of Barnet. In 1993, she appeared in the ITV series The Bill. She also auditioned for the role of Bianca Jackson on the BBC soap Eastenders, which was eventually given to Patsy Palmer. She subsequently was given the role of a mugger who attacked the character Jules Tavernier (played by Tommy Etyle). Emma later auditioned to be a member of the Spice Girls after Michelle Stephenson left the group because she felt she did not fit in. The Spice Girls then signed a recording contract with Virgin in September 1995. In the next year, they released their debut album Spice, with five number ones emerging from that album. In 1997, the Spice Girls released their second album, Spiceworld and they also released their first movie Spice World: The Movie. Their album Spiceworld included three number one singles, however Stop did not reach number one, it only reached number two in the singles charts. In May of 1998, Geri Halliwell decided to leave the Spice Girls, to pursue a solo project. The Spice Girls then took a break and Emma Bunton released her first solo single, What I Am, featuring Tin Tin Out, which peaked at number two in the UK singles chart. Emma also released her debut album, A Girl Like Me in 2001, which featured the single What Took You So Long, which reached numb er one in the UK singles charts. The Spice Girls then released their last album, Forever, which included three UK number one singles. In 2004, Emma released her second album, Free Me. Then in 2006, Emma entered the BBC celebrity dancing competition, Strictly Come Dancing, in which she finished in third place. During appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, her third album, Life In Mono was released, which featured Downtown, which reached number three in the UK singles chart. In 2007, the Spice Girls announced that they would be performing in The Return of the Spice Girls, a worldwide tour. This tour continued into 2008. In 2009, Emma also appeared as a judge on Lets Dance For Comic Relief, a BBC show for the popular fundraiser Comic Relief.
