Mini-bio: Born on the outskirts of Toronto, classically trained Canadian actress Christina Cox attended the exclusive Arts York at Unionville High School, where she double majored in theater and dance. Graduati... read moreng from that program, Cox applied and gained acceptance to Toronto's Ryerson Theatre School, then later attained recognition and exposure as a screen actress in her native Canada -- first in various guest appearances (as different characters) on the Alliance Atlantis television series Due South, then with a supporting role in the Steve di Marco-directed Canadian crime comedy Spike of Love. Cox first moved to Los Angeles in the mid- to late '90s. A number of her early appearances constituted guest spots on such programs as Andromeda, The Chris Isaak Show, and She Spies. She broke through to national fame in several capacities, however -- namely, as one of the leads, Kim, in the lesbian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate (1999) and with her ongoing portrayal of Angie Ramirez on F/X: The Series. Cox landed her most significant role up through that time as the heroine of the Vin Diesel fantasy adventure saga The Chronicles of Riddick (2004). In that film, the actress played Eve Logan, a mercenary soldier hired to deliver Richard Riddick (Diesel) to the planet known as Crematoria. In 2006, Cox landed one of her first major leads, as Vicki Nelson -- a private eye in for the ride of her life when she mistakenly confronts a 450-year-old vampire (Kyle Schmid) -- in the fantasy television series Blood Ties, adapted from the Blood Books series of novels by Tanya Huff. Christina Cox – Bio

A native of the Toronto area of Canada, Christina Cox recently completed the last of 13 episodes starring as Jen Crane in ABC’s Defying Gravity, a one-hour drama about a team of astronauts on a six-year mission in outer space. As the ship’s astrobiologist, her mission is to research the effects of long-term space travel on living organisms as well as her fulfill her quest for evidence of life on other planets. She must also cope with the unexpected mission long separation from her Mission Commander husband when he is replaced at the last minute.
On returning to Los Angeles, the former Unionville Arts Dance and Theatre major went from a zero gravity space walk to a stroll on the dark side, guest starring as Zoey Kruger on the 4th season of Showtime’s Dexter. Kruger, a cop accused of killing her family, goes toe to toe with Dex in more ways than one in the highest rated Dexter of the season in “Dex Takes a Holiday”. Following this, Christina returned to the right side of the law as she joined the cast of 24, as Secret Service Agent Molly O’Connor.
Christina is also well known as Vicki Nelson, an ex-cop turned private investigator specializing in solving supernatural crimes in the Lifetime Original series and cult favorite Blood Ties. In addition to starring in several pilots, including “the most watched never aired pilot in history” Nikki & Nora, she co-created and developed an original script for Sony Television with her Nikki & Nora show runner Nancy Lee Myatt (South of Nowhere, 3Way) and co-star Liz Vassey (CSI). Christina has an extensive list of guest stars and recurring roles on hit shows such as CSI: Miami, Bones, House and Numb3rs, as Roz, an investigator tracking the activities of the LAPD’s infamous ‘Special Investigations Squad’ in John Herzfeld’s Sony/Spike TV telefilm SIS and as Major Anne Teldy, heading up the first all female off-world team on Stargate Atlantis.
After leaving dance to focus her career on acting, things truly began with her Gemini nominated performance for her leading role as Angie Ramirez in Rysher Entertainment’s FX: The Series. Christina went on to earn much critical praise for her performance in the award winning romantic comedy Better than Chocolate and garnered attention for her intensely physical role as mercenary Eve Logan in the Universal Pictures blockbuster The Chronicles of Riddick.
Classically trained in theatre and dance as well as fencing and martial arts, Christina has amassed a wide range of credits across many genres and disciplines and relishes the challenge each new project offers.
