White has played in both the NFL (New England Patriots) and the NLL (lacrosse), earned his certifications as a licensed stock broker (series 6, 7, 63 and 65) and co-founded the professional dance company/community youth outreach organization Phunk Phenomenon Urban Dance Theater. He is also the President of Celebrity Relations for Warm2Kids (www.warm2kids.net), , an organization that connects socially conscious celebrities, corporations and community organizations to create a support network that helps teens, families and youth leaders reach their full potential. Additionally White is a founding partner along with director, Sylvain White of Media 3 Films, LLC (www.media3films.com), full-service film, television and broadband production company based in Los Angeles, CA.
White began acting on the small screen, displaying a strong presence in a number of television series such as Moesha, The Parkers, MTV's Spyder Games, UPN's comedy Second Time Around and most notably, as Detective Tavon Garris on the award-winning FX crime drama, The Shield.
White moved to film roles. Some of his more notable ones were in Tom Bezucha's The Family Stone, opposite an all-star cast, Rian Johnson's Independent Spirit Award-nominated film, Brick and as Sylvester, the leader of the Theta Nu Theta fraternity in the musical-drama Stomp the Yard, about a young man who, after the death of his brother, is sent to live in Atlanta where he is introduced to college and fraternity life.
His most recent roles were opposite of Dwanye Johnson aka "The Rock" was in Disney's box office hit The Game Plan; and in 2008, he also starred alongside Jason Statham in the fantasy-adventure epic In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and had a recurring role as Lt. Carl Davis on Producer, Joel Silver's award winning drama series, Moonlight for CBS.
In 2009 he will appear opposite Channing Tatum and Terrance Howard in Rogue Pictures Fighting;alongside World Wrestling Entertainment superstar, John Cena in the Fox Atomic film 12 Roundsand White next stars inTyler Perry's,I Can Do Bad All By MyselfoppositeTaraji P. Hensonin theaters everywhere September 11th.
In 2010, Brian co-founded and hostedthe Helping Hands Celebrity Weekend in St. Thomas, US VI. HHCW creating a unique platform where members of the entertainment industry, professional athletes and corporate leaders can unite and support one another's philanthropic efforts -- as well as provide a vehicle for celebrities who want to start giving back and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
2011 kicks off strong for Brian, starring in the romantic comedy film,The Heart SpecialistwithWood Harris,Zoe SaldanaandMýaopening in theaters on January 14th; and also returning for the 2nd season of "Men of a Certain Age" alongside Ray Romano, Andre BraugherandScott Bakula forTNT.
