Born on September 16, 1981, Alexis is best known for her role as Rory Gilmore on the long running television series, Gilmore Girls.
Kimberly Alexis Bledel was born in Houston, Texas. Her parents are Martin Bledel and Nanette Blake. Her father is Argentinian and her mom is Mexican - in fact, Spanish is her first language and she didn't learn English until she began school! Shy as a child, her mom encouraged her to to try community theater as a way of overcoming it, in which she appeared in a few local productions. She was scouted at a local mall and given work as a fashion model. Alexis is Roman Catholic. She goes by Kimberly amongst her friends and family, although uses Alexis as her professional name.
As far as her film career goes, Alexis has starred in several films but is most well known for her role in The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. Many may also know her from the movie Tuck Everlasting, as well as Sin City.
