After a year of training and auditioning, Brody landed the role of Barry Williams in the TV movie, Growing up Brady. He landed recurring roles on Gilmore Girls and the Canadian comedy television series Sausage Factory. In 2003, he began playing his most famous role to date, Seth Cohen (a slightly awkward seventeen year old) on the television show, The O.C.
In 2004, he became the first O.C. star to appear on the television show Punk'd . He plays the drums for the band Big Japan.
Brody appeared alongside Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, his biggest movie role to date. Most recently, he was seen as Rob Lowe's assistant in the film adaptation of Thank You For Smoking. Brody will co-produce the upcoming remake of the 1984 film Revenge of the Nerds. He has finished filming "In The Land of Woman", opposite Meg Ryan, and which is slated for release in 2007.
